WWW Wednesday — 22 May 2024

Ummm… so… I am still not sure what happened last week. I think I was so broken by my 1 star fantasy romance book from the week prior that I just completely gave up on all romantasy books. Which is very bad news for me finishing The Bargainer series. BUT, you know, maybe I’ll get back there one day. 👀

However, I DID read a book from my May TBR that was also a 24 in 24 challenge book. And while I didn’t read any other books from those lists this week, I did actually tick off two books that I have been talking about for ages. They are the last two graphic novels in the Amulet series by Kazu Kibuishi. Supernova I’ve had for a while, and Waverider came out a couple of months ago. The Amulet series IS on my top 5 series I will finish this year list, so consider this completed!!

I am so glad I’m spacing out my Zapata reads because this was the joy that my heart needed. I LOVED this.

I definitely should have read this when I read the others. I had to go back and skim read book 7 to remember what happened. It wasn’t as impactful as I would have liked.

A poignant, yet bittersweet ending to this series… The last book was highly quotable, and I’m actually looking forward to writing a review.

OK, so I didn’t make any progress on older reads this week… I did start Dark Harmony by Laura Thalassa, but I also put it down very quickly… SAD. Let’s all cross our fingers for next week’s progress… in finishing books. Not starting more.

OK, I know I just literally said no new books. BUT, I also really need to start The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones.

You know, if I actually want to read it before the book club discussion. Which gives me just over a week to actually read this. Like, eight days? I think? Ooh, maybe it’s nine days. Book Club is chatting on 1 June. (But like 6:00am my time, which is 31 May still for everyone else. Not that I think I’ll actually be awake at 6:00am on a Saturday. But still…) Also, this is totally achievable because it’s only 330 pages. I can totally read this in the next two weeks!!

BUT NO OTHER NEW BOOKS. Not even if they’re on my May TBR. None.

Let’s see if I can stick to this… I’m not feeling super optimistic to be honest… lol.
