Reading

A collection on my blog of everything I’ve been reading — from monthly wrap ups and detailed reviews to curated book lists and book recommendations.

Pen Pal by J.T. Geissinger book review

Alisha told me to go into Pen Pal knowing nothing. She did not warn me how often I’d question that advice. My four-star review starts spoiler-free, then gets into the reveal that changed everything, the letters that didn’t quite land, and my reservations about the revenge ending.

    September 2026 reading wrap up

September brought 10 books covering traditional fae, Catholic guilt, suspicious plot Lego, romance rereads and an increasingly elaborate Psy-Changeling conspiracy board. Apparently the Character Arc Tribunal is now permanently in session — but at least I’m having fun while I interrogate everyone’s emotional development.

The Love Hypothesis book vs movie

The Love Hypothesis movie keeps the novel’s central romance but changes who carries the story, when its biggest moments occur and what they mean. Here’s how the adaptation reshapes Olive, Adam, Anh and Tom without completely rewriting Ali Hazelwood’s plot.

    My Fault and its adaptations

My Fault book vs movies: which version actually works best? I compare Mercedes Ron’s chaotic novel with Culpa mía and My Fault: London, looking at Noah’s characterisation, the adaptations’ missing context and why the slicker, less faithful London film may understand the story better.

    August 2026 reading wrap up

August got slightly out of hand. I read 17 books for the MS Readathon, from cosy fantasy and traumatised college boys to gargoyle romance and a bittersweet classic. And somehow, an accidental theme emerged.

    Romantasy books with happy endings

Sometimes you want magical kingdoms, dangerous bargains, spicy monsters and emotional devastation, but only with a guaranteed HEA. From cosy standalones to trauma-filled completed series, these 12 romantasy recommendations promise that everything will eventually be okay.

    July 2026 reading wrap up

July's reading was gloriously chaotic: nine books spanning romance, romantasy, paranormal politics and Arthurian emotional devastation. There were redemption arcs, questionable decisions, excellent pining and several occasions when fictional characters made me cry.

MS Readathon 2026: Reading for a Cause

After a quiet few months, I'm back. Here's why burnout led me to romance, what I've been building behind the scenes, and why this next chapter, for both Meeghan Reads and my editing career, feels like the happy ending I didn't know I needed.

    June 2026 reading wrap up

June was a much stronger reading month, even if my Goodreads challenge still insists I'm behind. From discovering two new favourite authors to neighbours-to-lovers chaos involving silly string, here are the six romances I read, the books that surprised me, and the one that made me laugh the most.

    May 2026 reading wrap up

May was a slower reading month, with just four books finished and my yearly reading goal starting to slip away. From sports romances that didn't quite live up to expectations to the addictive fantasy of Half City, here's everything I read — and why cliffhangers should probably come with a warning.

Sometimes you need the happy ending

Hello friends!! Welcome to me rambling a post about which 2025 reading challenges I will participate in. I mean, I will complete!! Ok, so like, 2024 was not the raging success that I thought it would be. But I’m going to put it down to the very non-confident way that I phrased the post. Let’s be honest, “2024 reading challenges…
