Let’s see what I have been reading… (All images will link to Goodreads if you click on them. Potentially.)

WWW Wednesday — 5 February 2025
Title: The Witch King
Author: H. E. Edgmon
Series: Witch King #1
Released: 1 Jun 2021
Read: February 2025
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There are so many things I want to say about this book. It’s such a special debut novel, and you can tell how much Edgmon poured their soul into the story. It’s raw in parts and the feelings spill over the page. I cried and I loved it.
The Witch King is an own voices trans story about a witch who has been persecuted in a land of fae. And how he starts to come to terms with his trauma and his destiny.
Title: Loveboat Reunion
Author: Abigail Hing Wen
Series: Loveboat Taipei #2
Released: 25 Jan 2022
Read: February 2025
Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This was the sequel that I didn’t know I needed. This book was dual POV narrated by Sophie and Xavier — who were completely disastrous in book 1, and is set after Loveboat. While it’s a romance, his story really shines in the narrative around how they both navigate their feelings about themselves. Xavier with his dyslexia in family full of wildly successful business people, and Sophie with her energetic (or bossy) attititude while still wanting to people please. I think I bawled for the last 50 pages.
Title: Reckless
Author: Elsie Silver
Series: Chestnut Springs #4
Released: 9 Jun 2023
Read: February 2025
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really thought that out of all the Chestnut Springs books this one was going to be my 5 star pick. And it’s not that I didn’t love it, because I did. But I was so focussed on how this one ticked all of my trope boxes from the synopsis that I really just forgot to enjoy the ride for what it was. I think I was also surprised about the length of time the story covers and that threw me as well. It was a really sweet book and I loved the changes in both main characters.
Uhhh… I actually finished Reckless this morning, so while I have 20 books on my Goodreads ‘currently reading’ shelf, I’m not actually reading any of them. I really need to clean that list up…
It’s not that I don’t want to read A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston, it’s just that it’s been on my TBR for so long now I need a small break from seeing it.
So, I’m going to start the next mafia romance on my Nicole Fox backlist. I have to say, these have been my favourite mafia romances by far that I’ve read. I really love the way she develops her characters. So, fingers crossed that I will smash through Whiskey Poison and Whiskey Pain quickly!!
Then I can come back to some other books on my February 2025 TBR. You know, like a book club pick. Maybe Onyx Storm or When the Moon Hatched… Hopefully BEFORE the book club date!!

What are you reading now?
