The Poison Eaters and Other Stories by Holly Black 🗒

Well… if you saw my review on Monday, then you already know how I felt about this book. Reading it was definitely a time. It’s such a short book, only 212 pages, but it took me a long time to read it, because I kept stopping after each of the stories. I needed time to process what I’d actually read, and it became too difficult to just keep going. Sometimes I only needed about 10 minutes, but sometimes I needed to put the book down and walk away.
But, it’s another one ticked off my TBR so I am pleased, even if I didn’t love it.

Twice Shy by Sarah Hogle 🗒

I am pleasantly surprised to say that I have been sticking to my TBR this month!! Which I am also shocked by. In saying that, I did get book mail yesterday that nearly threw me off my path (and maybe I’ll read it after this anyway), but I have started Twice Shy and am likely going to finish it in the next couple of days. It’s not quite at You Deserve Each Other level yet, but I have hopes that it will be almost as good!!

If I stick to my TBR for January (and hopefully I will continue), then next up will be The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan.

I did start it as an audiobook a while ago, but the voices irked me so I put it down again. This time I’ll be going back to the paperback versions. And if this doesn’t work out then I can always put it back on my TBR for a ‘later this year’ or ‘unhaul’.
