2019 challenge wrap-up

Good morning bookworms!

Welcome to the 2019 challenge wrap-up! I’ll have another post with all my 2020 challenges in together as well.

Goodreads

2019 Goodreads reading challenge: 120 books read. 2019 goal was 90. 133% completed.

Read 120 of 90 books.
While I did finish my challenge in October.
I finished my secret challenge (of 100 books) in November!
(I actually read 122 books this year but Goodreads has erased Memento by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff from its catalogue, and I also read a beta novel this year.)

Beat the Backlist

I read 57 of 50 backlist books during 2019.
Not all of them were on my physical backlist, but I did hit 50 off it.
(There is a column on the original list where I have marked off the books I have read.)

Beat the Backlist Epic Reading Bingo

Beat the Backlist 2019 bingo final

I got one bingo. If I had have moved some more covers around I probably would have gotten more but I’m just so tired I really couldn’t be bothered.

Year of the Asian

I read 13 of 10 books!!!

I may not have smacked this one out of the park, but I think I did quite well. The only letters I missed, as you can see, are J, O, U, X, Y, Z.

ABC Book Challenge

I finally finished this one back in December, and it felt so good to mark that last post off!!

A | B | C | D | E | F | G | H | I | J | K | L | M
N | O | P | Q | R | S#1 | S#2 | T | U | V | W | X, Y, Z

Romance-opoly

I definitely didn’t play this one as you were supposed to. For starters I didn’t roll any dice for it, and I also didn’t do the quarterly challenges that you were supposed to do either. But I did mark off a bunch of the colour blocks, which was great. PINKBLUEORANGEBROWN and PURPLE!!

Romanceopoly final 2019

I’m pretty happy with my progress on all of these during the year, however I definitely won’t be taking on this many challenges again in one year!!

Did you finish all your challenges in 2019?

I love this wrap up post, Meeghan! Those challenges sound like so much fun! You’ve inspired me to look into some new ones for 2020. I posted my GR wrap up on Thursday last week and my A-to-Z challenge will go live this upcoming Thursday, but that’s all I did for 2019.

whoooo congrats on all your reading challenge achievements!

honestly I couldn’t be bothered to deliberately finish bingos on the Backlist board either, though I somehow managed to match all the prompts so it didn’t end up mattering ? it was fun, but I’ll probably tone it down and start with the non-epic bingo board this year, lol.

I think I had to read at least 3-5 popsugar books in the middle/end of December, but I did get through all my challenges thankfully! though I’m also aiming lower this year – still doing Backlist and YARC, plus #StartOnYourShelfathon and the Books & Tea prompts, but I’m aiming for lower numbers than I did last year.

here’s hoping we both do as well (or even better) with 2020 challenges! ?

Let's chat!
