WWW Wednesday — 8 May 2024

Hello friends!! Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday — 8 May 2024!!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, where you answer the three following questions:

  • What did you recently finish?

  • What are you currently reading?

  • And, what do you think you’ll read next?

Let’s see what I have been reading… (All images will link to Goodreads if you click on them. Potentially.)

what i finished

I finished another three books this week… and all three from my May 2024 TBR. Look what happens when I apply myself!! Also, like, one of them I’d almost finished and the other two I absolutely smashed through. So that definitely helped. Also, this is an ARC (thanks Pan MacMillan Australia), a long term TBR book, and a 24 in 24 challenge book!! Winning all around!!

This took so long to get into, and was kind of predictable, but I thought the ending was worth the wait.

*screaming* I’ve had this on my kindle for YEARS and I have only just read it. WHYYYYYY did I wait so long?! (better than ACOTAR)

what i'm reading

I am ticking books off this list!! And I’m making headway with books ON here still. That’s a win, even though I started (and finished) two other books that weren’t on this list this week. If I can get this list down to 3 by the end of this month, I’m taking that as a win. (I can’t remember the last time I was only reading one book at a time…)

Her Majesty's Royal Coven by Juno Dawson
The Prisoner's Throne by Holly Black
Rivals by Katharine McGee
The Forest Grimm by Kathryn Purdie
A Duet with the Siren Duke by Elise Kova

what's up next

OK, hear me out. I know I was just shouting about how great it was that I read three books from my May 2024 TBR. And also how I wanted to get my ‘currently reading’ list down to three books. Look what great progress I’ve made in the first week of the month!!

However… I also want to desperately devour the rest of the Bargainer series. Surprise?! So, umm, I’ll be starting A Strange Hymn as of tomorrow. LOL. I’m not even pretending to be joking about this.

I also need to kick another buddy reading book into gear, so once I have smashed through my latest Laura Thalassa series, I’ll either be starting The Bone Houses or Serpents of Sky and Flame. I find that the earlier I start a book club pick, the earlier I finish it. And (amazingly) the more I can contribute to the conversation. Because, you know, I actually finished it. Wild.
