WWW Wednesday — 8 January 2025
2025 has been the year of the audiobook so far. And by that I mean I listed the hell out of my Fourth Wing reread. Actually, painting while listening was surprisingly a good activity. (For those who didn’t catch my Insta stories from 1-5 January, I finished painting my home office / library, which meant taking all of my books off one wall of shelves, moving the shelves, painting the walls, and then moving everything back. It was a time, but it looks so good now!!)

My first book of 2025 was a reread, but it’s totally fine, because it was by design. Mostly because it’s also a book club pick, and, although not posted yet, is one of my books that I intended to reread in 2025. More coming on that in… February??
I stuck to my 5 star rating, and got to scrunch my face up in annoyance every time Dain was on page… or audio.
Ahhh… good times.
I really am reading two books right now. You see, I finished Fourth Wing and then started the audio for Iron Flame to keep the painting going. And then the sorting books, etc.
And when I wasn’t painting or playing video games, I have been reading my physical copy of The Witch King by H.E. Edgmon for my buddy read with DB.
Look at me making progress with my January TBR already. What a time to be alive.
Ok, so until I have a copy of Onyx Storm, which honestly might not be until February, I am planning to read A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston. I need a good book I can read on the plane for my trip to Singapore in a week and a half, and this one hits all my check boxes.
If I finish A Novel Love Story while I’m there, I have a few more books on my iPad I can read, like Reckless by Elsie Silver or When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker, or Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez. The second of which is another book club pick.
I’m hoping to smash through some fantasy books while I’m keen though, so keep your fingers crossed for me, friends!!

Glad that you got your office done and listening to audiobooks sounds like a great way to occupy the time too. Hopefully it won’t be too long until you get hold of Onyx Storm.

I need to finish Iron Flame before the third book comes out, but it’s probably not gonna happen. My audiobook went back to the library and the waitlist is loooong.

I started my reread of Fourth Wing but I didn’t get very far into it before I had to put it down to finish another book that’s due back to the library soon.
