Umm, LOL. Can I just say after last week’s absolutely disastrous Tessa Bailey book (that I’m actually considering lowering my rating to 1 star for), I feel like I got my Bailey groove back. Did I read anything from my August 2024 TBR? Absolutely not. But, you know, it’s still early in the month.
Hilariously, I did read a book from my July 2024 TBR. So, you know. Maybe I’m just running slightly behind.

This was hot, funny and the grief felt so real that I cried hard. This is great Tessa Bailey.
I finished Unfortunately Yours tonight, so I am technically currently reading The Priory of the Orange Tree. I would like to add an addendum that I have not made any progress on it this week though.
Like I said last week, while I still have 600(ish) pages to go, and my brain still says that I couldn’t possibly read that much in a weekend, I still managed to smash through 750 pages of mush that made me cry anyway. It’s fine. I’m fine. We’re all fine. Not reading still qualifies as progress. Wait, that doesn’t sound right.
Am I going to read more fantasy (that isn’t this) next? Yes. But, in my defence, they are worlds that I am already vastly familiar with.
OK, I am going to read The League of Gentlewomen Witches by India Holton next.
Partly because it’s on my August 2024 TBR.
Mostly because Apprentice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer came out yesterday and I don’t think I’ll be able to buy it until the weekend. Primarily because I will probably work late all this week because work is insane at the moment.
Will I finish it before I get a copy of Apprentice? Unlikely.
Will I finish it before I start Apprentice? Also unlikely, but that’s because I have absolutely no chill. Or patience.
It’s really just a matter of how far I get through League by the weekend. And whether I go shopping on Saturday or Sunday.

I’m also so pumped for Apprentice to the Villain! But I made myself agree to finish my current reads before I can buy it so I’ve got a 500+ and an 800+ page book to get to the end of first 😩 hopefully you manage to get yourself a copy soon! 🤞
