WWW Wednesday – 5 January 2022
Hello bookworms!! Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday — 5 January 2022!! So, here we are, another new year, and the last three days of 2021 as well.
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, where you answer the three following questions:
- What did you recently finish?
- What are you currently reading?
- And, what do you think you’ll read next?
Let’s see what I read!
29 December 2021 – 4 January 2022
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater 🎧 / 📔
I’m actually really pleased that my last book for 2021 was to finish my annual reread of The Scorpio Races. It felt poetic. Hiding in my office/study/library from the people who were at my house to celebrate New Years Ever felt very Puck/Sean like. Every time I read this book I feel like I learn something new about it. It’s still, without a doubt, my favourite book of all time.
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson 🗒
I actually started to read most of this on Monday, and then I managed to smash through the rest last night (Tuesday). So, it’s technically my first finished book of 2022. And I have to say that I’m pleasantly surprised by it. In fact, I’m wavering between giving it 4 stars or 5 stars. I’m sitting hard on 4 stars right now, but if I keep thinking about the story (like I think I will), then I might have to bump it up.
The City of Zirdai by Maria V. Snyder 🗒
I would like to say that I have made progress on this… but it would be a lie. This dystopian is going back on the TBR pile. Maybe to be picked up at a later date.
If I stick to my TBR for January (and hopefully I will), then next up will be one of the following books:
- The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan 🗒 / 🎧
- The Poison Eaters and Other Stories by Holly Black 🗒
- Twice Shy by Sarah Hogle 🗒
BUT, it’s a pretty broad selection so I’m feeling good about it!! Keep your fingers crossed for me!!
What are you currently reading??
