WWW Wednesday — 3 January 2024

Hello bookworms!! Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday — 3 January 2024!! And also another type of post that I haven’t done since 2022. Look, 2023 was a whole time, ok?

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words (I am honestly just assuming that Sam still hosts this), where you answer the three following questions:

  • What did you recently finish?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • And, what do you think you’ll read next?

Let’s see what I have been reading… (All images will link to Goodreads if you click on them. Potentially.)

WWW Wednesday 3 January 2024

Ok, so it’s been over a year since my last WWW Wednesday post, I’m not really sure how to start this one as we usually just do that I read the previous week… I guess we could start from 1 January but that really only gives me 2.5 days-ish. Screw it. I don’t think I did a single wrap-up in 2023 either. Let’s do from 1 December. (Checks December read list on Goodreads…)

New plan!! Let’s do a SELECTION of books that I read in December, and then what I have read in January. That’s way better. Also, my god, I read some trash last year. I did hit my 100 book goal, but also, wow. Let’s not talk about half of those.

what i'm reading

So, my main book at the moment is The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (I am seriously devouring these books). I started a few others in the last couple of months, and while I’ve been reading a page or two here and there, none are really holding my attention yet. BUT, I plan to finish at least three of them this month (as per my January 2024 TBR).

A Duet with the Siren Duke by Elise Kova
The Sinister Booksellers of Bath by Garth Nix
The Dreadful Tale of Propser Redding by Alexandra Bracken

what's up next

Honestly, I will be wildly surprised if I don’t pick up the third book in The Inheritance Games series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I have very nearly finished The Hawthorne Legacy at the time of writing this, and it’s so good!! Very rare that I enjoy the second book in a series as much as the first, but here we are.

I’m not sure what will come after The Final Gambit though, as I don’t have the fourth book yet. I do find myself looking at my shelves thinking “I should read that soon” though. And with a TBR of over 500 books, it’s not like I’m short on options!
