Hello friends!! Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday — 29 May 2024!!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, where you answer the three following questions:
What did you recently finish?
What are you currently reading?
And, what do you think you’ll read next?
Let’s see what I have been reading… (All images will link to Goodreads if you click on them. Potentially.)

*commence manic laughter…* Ummm… I know last week I was all “I will not start new books, except for The Bone Houses!” And yay me for reading The Bone Houses ahead of book club chat in 3 days (that’s a huge win). AND I finished The Bargainer series — also yay!!
But somehow, some way, I’m not sure why or when (that’s a lie, I absolutely know when), I managed to slip in an entire brand new romance book. It just fell onto my kindle app, and then it somehow got read. WILD. Also, I should really do a blog post on all of the books and video games I’ve been buying this week. I really need to get better and go back to work because my bank account is not pleased right now.

Final book in the series was… fine. It definitely dragged a bit more than the others. And the secret keeping got annoying.

Sweet second chance romance that’s a little enemies to lovers, with fake marriage/dating and only one bed tropes 🥰

Read: May 2024
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book reminded me of why I love YA fantasy books. It’s a little bit fairytale retelling, with soft family drama, soft romance, and lots of dead bodies.
I kicked ONE book off this list from last week. And I haven’t added anything new, so that’s good. I’ve also made some progress with Her Majesty’s Royal Coven and The Prisoner’s Throne… I’m just not super feeling either of them right now. Although, I have been switching between the hardcover and the audio for Coven — and Nicola Coughlin (Penelope Featherington of Bridgerton fame) narrates it. She does all the accents beautifully and I am enjoying it when I get to it… I’m just not in the headspace for this at the moment.
So, counting today, we only have three days left of May. I’m just completely giving up on my May 2024 TBR. It’s partly because I’ve just added all of my five ‘current reads’ to my TBR for June. But also because I’m still off work with my back (I’ve got nothing but time at the moment) and I’m in physical pain. And my attention is all over the place (also because I am bored). So I am not in the right headspace for big books.
Instead, I decided to sort my epic TBR spreadsheet by page number, and just try and smash out as many of my ‘under 200 page’ books as possible. Of which there’s about 10 that don’t involve me reading other books first.
The first one I’m going to pick up is a new-to-me author, T. Kingfisher, and I’m kind of excited!! I only bought this book last month when I went to Melbourne (for work — boring), but I got to hang out with my friend Em (@booksaboutem) and we went book shopping!! I picked up Thornhedge and Nettle and Bone, both by Kingfisher, and they were also both signed. So that’s cool. And now I’m going to read it.

What are you currently reading?

I hope that Her Majesty’s Secret Coven grows on you. I just couldn’t get into it for some reason but I know that many people loved it and the next one.

I can highly recommend the audiobook!! I think I need to do the physical and audio at the same time. That may help with my concentration. I’m sorry it didn’t work for you!! Hopefully you’re reading something great now.
