WWW Wednesday — 27 March 2024

Hello friends!! Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday — 27 March 2024!!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, where you answer the three following questions:

  • What did you recently finish?

  • What are you currently reading?

  • And, what do you think you’ll read next?

Let’s see what I have been reading… (All images will link to Goodreads if you click on them. Potentially.)

what i finished

After weeks and weeks of not contributing to the TBR, and no no progress in my 2024 challenges, I am delighted to say that I have finally made some small check marks of progress!! This week I achieved:

  • I read two books from my March 2024 TBR
  • I read my first 12 in 12 book for 2024
  • AND I read my first Bookish Chaos Book Club pick for 2024 (and the companion novel)

Also, not really for the “things I finished” list, but I have also started the first book from my 24 in 24 challenge! Achievements and gold medals all around for this week.

Very Neil Gaiman. I liked it, but didn’t LOVE it. Good moral to the story, but not entirely sure I get the fuss…?

Read in one sitting. I cried so hard at 50% and again around 80%. And I stayed up until 2am on a work night to finish it…

what i'm reading

So, as I said above, I have STARTED my first 24 in 24 book this week. Which is huge. Monumental. SPLENDIFEROUS!!

It also happens to be The Prisoner’s Throne by Holly Black, which would also see me tick off one of my ‘finish this series in 2024‘ sets.

Imagine planning out how I can tick off multiple things with one single task. The strategic planning, forethought and coordination is outrageous. Maybe I’ll get properly organised this year. (Or maybe I’ll just keep falling over at the last second and accidentally achieving results… No promises.)

Now, I am also making small progress in Heartless Sky, of the Zodiac Academy world. Because I am going to hate finish this series if I have to, but I am honestly hoping it doesn’t come to that… Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

what's up next

Rivals by Katharine McGee

Ok, so we’ve made progress, and now it’s time to make more. The American Royals series is one that has been on my TBR to finish for ages, and I love the books. They’re like the bookish version of trashy reality TV, but I actually care about the characters.

So, Rivals is on my March 2024 TBR, and I’m going to read it. Also, apparently there’s a fourth book (Reign) so I would like to get that and read it too. (Someone find Katharine McGee and let me know if there are MORE books coming. I am so keen for this series to never end.)

Sometime soon I am also joining a Fourth Wing buddy read thing (it’s on my 12 in 12 as well)… But that may not be starting until April.

And, because it’s an extra long weekend this weekend, which is double the days of last weekend, I should be able to finish like 8 books. (Because of maths and I finished 4 books last weekend… so that totally works.) Which means I should totes be able to smash out the rest of my March TBR. And clean my apartment.

Grateful if someone could please send me motivational texts!!
