WWW Wednesday – 26 January 2022
Hello bookworms!! Welcome to (my catch up — apologies for the spam you’re about to receive) week’s WWW Wednesday — 26 January 2022!!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, where you answer the three following questions:
- What did you recently finish?
- What are you currently reading?
- And, what do you think you’ll read next?
Let’s see what I read!
19-25 January 2022
Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan 🗒
Yes, I finally read it. I know, I’m impressed too. This one was a bit of a slog for me — likely because I had a mental block about it, as I had started and stopped reading it about 3 times over the last few years. But I enjoyed it in the end. Which was really nice. I will be posting mini reviews for this and the one below.
Percy Jackson and the Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan 🗒
Yes, I’m also proud of myself for reading this one straight away. Even though it was on my TBR. I really liked this one. The dynamic between Thalia and Zoë was great, and I would have read a whole other story about their bickering. I kind of felt that without Annabeth, Percy didn’t really bring a lot to the story…
Here’s To Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera 🗒
This baby arrived in the mail, so I took a Percy Jackson break to start it instead. I’m not even remotely sorry. I’m just so happy to be back in Arthur and Ben land.
In saying that, I could have happily lived without a sequel, but now that it’s a thing, and I got to hold it in my hands, I want nothing else in the world.
The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer 🎧
I have been listening to this in small bits and pieces, but I can confirm that I am making progress!! Not too long to go now, and the story is really picking up.
I’m not sure where we go from here though, as it also seems to be coming to a close…? I wonder what will happen with books 2-6?!
The Kings of Nowhere by C. G. Drews 📱
I haven’t screamed about this yet, but it is in my January wrap-up post (coming soon). C.G. Drews, who we all know and love as Paper Fury, is publishing the sequels (yes, plural) to The Boy Who Steals Houses to her brand new Patron account. And if you know anything about me, you should know how much I loved book one.
I’ve started reading, but as we’re getting a couple of chapters each week, expect this to be on here for a while!!
I need to possibly throw out my TBR for the last few days of the month. I forgot about the Pondathon II side quest, so I’ll be putting some diverse books into the TBR for the remainder of the month. Books like:
- Displacement — Kiku Hughes
- The Trouble With Hating You — Sajni Patel
What are you currently reading??
