WWW Wednesday — 21 February 2024

Hello friends!! Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday — 21 February 2024!!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, where you answer the three following questions:

  • What did you recently finish?

  • What are you currently reading?

  • And, what do you think you’ll read next?

Let’s see what I have been reading… (All images will link to Goodreads if you click on them. Potentially.)

what i finished

It has been a weird reading week. I attribute it to my road trip to Melbourne (8 hours each way) where I smashed through an audiobook reread that I have had on the go for… uh… four years. And then I stayed down that ‘older-brother’s-best-friend’ rabbit hole that I started down last week.

I definitely need to go back to my TBR where the books I will genuinely love live.

Honestly, I can’t even remember the plot of this one. But more older brother’s best friend trope.

what i'm reading

February TBR?? What February TBR?? OMG, seriously, just don’t make eye contact with it at this point, ok?!

OK, so after taking 4 years (ok, 3 and a half…) to finish City of Lost Souls, I then started my reread of City of Heavenly Fire. I don’t think I actually realised that the Blackthorn’s story starts in the beginning of this book, so I’m now VERY glad that I am rereading the Mortal Instruments. Even though it means I’m rating them lower because I’m enjoying them less. But that’s ok. We all grow as readers.

I am still only about 2 chapters into The Forest Grimm by Kathryn Purdie. This is not an indication on my enjoyment of it. I just haven’t been able to pick up the physical copy in a while…

I also started Twisted Love by Ana Huang today, so that’s another older brother’s best friend book. Maybe I’m looking for something but just not finding it… If anyone knows any good books in this trope please tell me!!

what's up next

Hello. I’m just crying because I don’t know what I will read next. Probably another not-amazing older brother’s best friend angsty romance. Maybe something that will bring me joy. One day I might even start The Dark Artifices.

However, on this glorious of leap years, I don’t think it will be anything on my TBR any more. I am resigned to it now. Sorry TBR.
