Good morning bookworms!
Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday! What is this, you ask? Well, it’s a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. All you have to do is answer the three following questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
So, without further ado, let’s get started!
What I recently finished reading…
This week I finished ONE book. But it’s ok. Tomorrow I am flying to the beach for a four day weekend mini-break (we’re actually going for a wedding), and I am going to READ so much!! I’m really excited!!
- Radio Silence – Alice Oseman (Defence Against the Dark Arts)
What I am currently reading…
It’s O.W.L.s time and also Avengers time!! I am currently reading the following… but it’s taking me a LOOOOONG time to get into it. If it hasn’t picked up by tomorrow I might do some reshuffling of my prompts!
- Ace of Shades – Amanda Foody (Transfiguration and Iron Man prompts)
What I think I’ll read next…
As I mentioned before, I’m focusing on my O.W.L.s, as I really want to to try and go for Alchemist and also my Avengers Read-a-thon (but less because it goes until 14 May), so that means going for gold (probably unlikely, but we’ll see what happens!). I’m 3 down, 1 in progress, with 8 to go. Next up will likely be:
- The Wren Hunt – Mary Watson (Herbology)
- All That Compels the Heart – Erin Bowlen (Charms)
Until next time, happy reading! ??

oooooooh I hope you have tons of fun at the beach (and wedding)!! also 100% agree, vacation time is absolutely prime reading time. yay for books that fulfill multiple prompts, they’re so essential for those of us who enter way too many challenges and readathons ?

It’s so true!! Also, I totally threw out my TBR then read 2 graphic novels and am a third of the way through a new book. So I’ve decided it’s not a ‘slump’, my brain just doesn’t want to read anything I told it it should read.

so not a slump, just a mutiny ?

I may have put it aside for now. I don’t know what’s going on with my brain but it’s just not engaging with fantasy at the moment. Every single fantasy book I’ve picked up in the last 2 months I’ve lost interest in and picked up a contemporary instead. Saga Vol 2 is the only exception, but that’s because I pushed through because it was only 160 page graphic novel. I don’t know why but I’m just not feeling the fantasy love right now.

Ha ha! That happens. I go through phases all the time! That’s why I’m trying theme months right now. Maybe I can pick my vibe and go with it instead of feeling pressured to read something.

?? I don’t recommend signing up for millions of readathons if you’re a mood reader!! I love the idea of a readathon, I just never quite manage to want to read the prompt books by the time it rolls around!!

ABSOLUTELY!! I joined a couple of read-a-thons last year, and a couple of book clubs on Goodreads… Both wound up fairly disastrous for getting me to read anything because at the time of reading it I would get too busy, or not be in the mood for whatever had been chosen. Ha ha!
Reminds me of a certain “Terry Pratchett Read-a-thon”… ?? I really want to pick that up again! I’m just still learning how to manage my reading time and 60 hr work weeks…

Hahahahaha, I was wondering what happened to that!! And I agree, I think I was rating the books lower (or just skim reading them) because I was forcing myself to do it… One day it’ll happen again!!

I BELIEVE!! Maybe we’ll chat soon and co-ordinate a time when we both feel we’re back into it! I’d love to give Sir Terry Pratchett the love he deserves! ?
