Hello friends!! Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday — 16 October 2024!!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, where you answer the three following questions:
What did you recently finish?
What are you currently reading?
And, what do you think you’ll read next?
Let’s see what I have been reading… (All images will link to Goodreads if you click on them. Potentially.)

Well friends if this all goes smoothly, then as this post is being published, I should be winging my way to the land of Hobbiton. Yes, I am heading to New Zealand. Although it’s for a work trip so I won’t actually be visiting Hobbiton. 😭
So, let’s assume that I haven’t finished anything since leaving Canberra five hours ago, and just go with where my reading was at on Tuesday afternoon. I am expecting a lot of books to be checked off for next week though since I’ll have spent about 12 hours on planes, and more in airports and hotels with not a great deal else to occupy myself with.
I think I might need to pick up some digital copies of my challenge books, because whenever I get a moment, I just read whatever is on my phone. Which is generally Kindle Unlimited romances, to be honest. Otherwise I am going to fail spectactularly with all of my challenges… I’m still tracking my challenge reading through this spreadsheet I built, but I think I’ve only got about 10 weeks left and 27 books still to read. Good thing I’ve got some time off work in December…
This week I managed to finish two hockey romances… none of which were a challenge book. But I did finish the Vancouver Agitators series…?!
Title: He’s Not My Type
Author: Meghan Quinn
Series: Vancouver Agitators #4
Released: 28 Nov 2023
Read: October 2024
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My fave of the series. I just really love a romance that kicks you in the feels with a side of grief. Not sure why. Maybe it makes the happy ending so much better. The epilogue could have been better.
Title: So This is War
Author: Meghan Quinn
Series: Vancouver Agitators #5
Released: 25 Jun 2024
Read: October 2024
Rating: ⭐️⭐️
So… this was definitely the worst book in the series. I kind of liked Posey despite being an annoying moron in the other books. But I really didn’t enjoy his POV. Or Wylie’s. Or the story at all. The whole thing was kind of ick.
OK, so I’m about 25% through Blitz by Daniel O’Malley, which is the third book in The Checquy Files. The first book in this series is The Rook.
I have actually now bought an ebook version of it to take with me on my trip to Wellington, so hopefully I can get some plane reading in, as well as evenings. Although I do have the conference and dinners to attend, as well as doing actual work.
Because each chapter seems to switch back and forth between WW2 and modern day, some of the chapters are quite long. The letter chapter has been slowly murdering me with its world building dump. But I will perservere because I loved the first two books so much!
When I get home, I am actually going to go and look for The Sinister Booksellers of Bath by Garth Nix. I’ve been saying for weeks that I should look for it, but it’s now getting a bit ridiculous. Even if I don’t read it next, it’s starting to bug me that I don’t know where it is.
However, I might have to skip directly to Wolfsong by TJ Klune because it’s the Romance Revelry Society’s book club pick for October, and I nominated it. So I definitely have to read it. Will I get an ebook of it too? Who knows, but my copy of Wolfsong is the Goldsboro hardcover so it’s super big and heavy.
Either way, both books are on my TBR for October and part of my 2024 challenges.

What are you currently reading?
