WWW Wednesday – 16 Jan 2019
Good morning bookworms!
Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday! What is this, you ask? Well, it’s a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. All you have to do is answer the three following questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
So, without further ado, let’s get started!
What I recently finished reading…
A-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. You guys remember that “what I’ll read next” from last week? I didn’t read a single book on it. #classicmeeghan
I did however read some books! #winning! (#kindof)
- The Wicked King by Holly Black (?♀️ buddy read)
- How (Not) To Kiss a Beast by Elizabeth A. Reeves
- How (Not) To Kiss a Ghost by Elizabeth A. Reeves
- How (Not) To Play With Magic by Elizabeth A. Reeves
What I am currently reading…
*Ah-hem* I may or may not still be reading (procrastinating) Pratchett… why is this taking me so long?!?! Also, I seem to have an unusually high number of books on the go, but just hear me out, ok, there are REASONS.
- Wyrd Sisters by Terry Pratchett – (80%) ok, yes, this is just laziness…
- The Summer of Jordi Perez by Amy Spalding – (20%) you see, I wanted something to break the edge off all the fantasy I’ve been reading lately
- Pyramids by Terry Pratchett – (10%) I started this so I could meet this month’s deadline
- A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer – (50%) this came in the mail yesterday from Bloomsbury Publishing, and I just had to start it immediately because it’s one of my most anticipated reads of the year and I didn’t think I was going to get an ARC of it, so I was SO EXCITED when it came. Also, I was right, it’s not an ARC, it’s actually a FINISHED COPY!!! (<— still excited!!)
What I think I’ll read next…
Wellllllll, I should probably finish the above first, but then I could try the below (again) to see if they’ll stick this time? Also adding in the Grishaverse books…
- Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
- Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
- Surprise Me by Sophie Kinsella
- Autoboyography by Christina Lauren
- Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
Happy reading! ??

I’m still waiting on my library hold of The Wicked King, so I’m super jealous of everyone who’s gotten to read it already! also looking forward to A Curse So Dark and Lonely, though I’ve seen some pretty mixed reviews, and Autoboyography. and a lot of other books? ? this is probably why I can’t plan more than 2-3 books ahead in my reading order ?

A Curse So Dark and Lonely was AMAZING!!! I don’t even have words to describe it. Just tears and feels and general flailing like a fish on land.

I’ve been hearing SO much about The Wicked King & A Curse So Dark and Lonely that I’ve succumbed to peer pressure and added it to my TBR ?. Can’t wait to read your review of ACSDAL, as it might possibly make me feel better about giving in ? ?

I’m about halfway through The Cruel Prince, and know it will be awhile before I get to The Wicked King. Hope you enjoyed it! https://teripolen.com/2019/01/16/www-wednesday-what-am-i-reading-amreading-20/

Oh my gawd!! Once you’re done with Cruel Prince (and if you liked it), I highly recommend going back and reading ALL of Holly Black’s fae stories as they all have crossover characters and it’s the same world. Let me know if you’re keen and I can guide you xx

I only read Vampire Academy for the first time last year, so this is all new to me! (I think the Sookie Stackhouse books may have ruined vampires for me for a while…) Also, thank you!! It’s so nice to know people like my site xx

I was off Vampires for a while (I overdid it on Vampires Diaries on CW) but I really liked Bloodlines. As in, purchase next book in the middle of the night liked them.

Oh gawd! I’m definitely looking forward to it then!!

Hey, I’m currently doing a read-through of Discworld too! I only got further along by two last year (Moving Pictures and Reaper Man), which I’m pretty disappointed with. I hope things pick back up for you!

I enjoyed Surprise Me. I thought it was better than the Shopaholic books. The other books on your list are new to me. Enjoy! Here’s MY WWW POST

I thought the shopaholic books started off well, but I just lost interest around the sister-stage. That was so weird.
