WWW Wednesday – 15 July 2020

Good evening bookworms!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, where you answer the three following questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

I read books this week. Not as many as I was planning on, but some is better than none!! Also, shout out to Shanah @ Bionic Bookworm for starting a booktube channel!! Her first video is for the Off-the-Grid readathon, which is on this coming weekend, and I am hoping to get through more books then!! (But no set TBR because I’m due to fail it completely!!)

what i finished

I’m still behind on review books… but I am getting through my prompts for the 90’s Pop Culture readathon!!

Mortal Instruments #1 City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Book one of my The Mortal Instruments reread is DONE!! I actually switched to an audiobook halfway through because I wanted to do some drawing, but it worked out really well!! Suffice to say, this book didn’t really hold up over time for me… ?

Amulet #1 The Stonekeeper by Kazu Kibuishi

I finally got started on this amazing series. I can’t quite tell if it should sit in Middle Grade, where I thought it would, and Young Adult. It’s definitely darker than I expected, and there’s lots of death in Volume 1, but the art and story is amazing nonetheless.

Amulet #2 The Stonekeeper's Curse by Kazu Kibuishi

Where Volume 1 in this series was very dark, Volume 2 gets a bit lighter, and has more adventure. I knew I would like this series (or at least I hoped I would!!), but it’s so gratifying to start to fall in love with this series.

Yay to more books!!

Mortal Instruments #2 City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

Book 2 in The Mortal Instruments has begun. As with the first book, I’ve started with the physical copy, but I will probably switch to audio on the weekend when I have housework and things to catch up on!!

Amulet #3 The Cloud Searchers by Kazu Kibuishi

As with Volume 2, Volume 3 is lighter again, and it’s not just because they’re up in the sky among the clouds. The characters are coming into their own, and learning to trust themselves and it’s just such a beautiful story!!

what's up next

Amulet #4 The Last Council by Kazu Kibuishi

Some of the books on my TBR for this month have yet to arrive… so I’m a little bit sad, but also, kind of freaking out that they’re not here yet!! Mostly I just want to read Fence: Rivals… but I can’t make the post go any faster (more’s the pity)!!

I’m definitely going to keep reading the Amulet series by Kazu Kibuishi, Volume 4 is The Last Council. I got another review book in the mail yesterday, and I have The Mortal Instruments to continue rereading as well!

What are you currently reading??

until next time, happy reading! Meeghan xo
