Hello friends!! Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday — 13 November 2024!!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, where you answer the three following questions:
What did you recently finish?
What are you currently reading?
And, what do you think you’ll read next?
Let’s see what I have been reading… (All images will link to Goodreads if you click on them. Potentially.)

WWW Wednesday — 6 November 2024
Uhh, so I totally missed last week’s post. And it wasn’t one I thought I should catch up on. Mostly because the week ending Wed 6 November I read nothing. And I don’t mean I didn’t finish any books. I mean, I literally read maybe 2 pages. Which is essentially nothing when you compare to other weeks where I’ve read 4 whole books.
The reason was that I had a super busy work week, and a heap of events on. I had late work days on the Wed-Fri to prep for a work event on Monday night. Then we had a destination wedding over the weekend so we were gone early Saturday and didn’t get back until late Sunday. Then on Monday night I had the work event, which I might have skipped out early on because I had tickets to An Evening with Stephen Fry (he was AMAZING). Then on Tuesday I pretty much collapsed on the couch after work and fell asleep!!
So, not a very big reading week at all…

Honestly, I wish I could say it got better, but it really didn’t. On Thursday afternoon I tested positive for COVID, so I kind of spent the whole weekend sleeping and coughing.
I did say to my mum that if they were doing a bingo card for 2024 contagious viral infections I would probably win something after my bouts of whooping cough, influenza A, the random viarl infection, and now COVID. Plus I think I was sick with a chest infection in May as well? It’s been a year and I am very happy we’ll be waving goodbye to it soon.
Title: My Eerewolf Professor
Author: Emilia Rose
Series: N/A
Released: 29 Aug 2022
Read: November 2024
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Look, maybe it was my COVID brain, but I thought this was ok. But also I can’t remember anything about it, except the ending was VERY abrupt. Like, in the middle of conflict on one page, and then it ends 5 pages later. No epilogue. It was weird. But kind of fine. I didn’t hate it by any means, but also somewhat forgettable. (It’s probably more of a 2.5 stars than 3…)
Title: Doctored Vows
Author: Shandi Boyes
Series: Marital Privileges #1
Released: 2 Aug 2024
Read: November 2024
Rating: ⭐️⭐️
I should have stuck to my oath to only read Nicole Fox mafia romances. This was ok, but there were too many plot holes and somewhat awkward mental gymnastics for the spicy scenes for me. In saying that, the only reason I read this was because the synopsis for book 2 caught my eye and then I realised it was a series. So maybe I will still read book 2?
OK, so I technically finished Doctored Vows about 5 minutes ago. But I have also read 150 pages of Glow this week. It’s just… not holding my attention. I forgot that I didn’t really like Auren. Which is a shame since she’s the main character.
Slade’s backstory is pretty much the only reason I’ve made it this far. And also the (very small) hope that Auren grows as a person when she stops shoving all of her feelings into a box before padlocking it and chucking it in the Marina Trench.
But, you know, there is some hope. However small. And maybe she will be amazing.
Pray for me.
And my TBR.
Uhh, so I kind fo threw out all of my plans in my November 2024 TBR. Which is cool. Maybe it’s time to just read for the enjoyment of reading. But that would also require me to read books I think I might actually enjoy instead of what looks maybe interesting on Kindle Unlimited.
See, this is why I need priorities. Guidance. Direction. A TBR. But also it never works and then I run through the dandelions with wild abandon, and end up with hayfever and eczema.
That analogy was a bit unhinged, but pretend the hayfever and eczema are an increasing TBR of books i actually want to read, and a series of read books that I only rate 2-3 stars.
These are the real dilemnas of my life. It’s hard…
I DID promise DB a buddy read though, so The Witch King by H.E. Edgmon is next.

What are you reading now?

That’s a real shame about last week’s reading. Hopefully things will improve this week with the Witch King. Fingers crossed that your health improves too. You’ve certainly had a rotten year for viruses.

Thank you!! I’m hoping I am viral infection free for the rest of the year!!

Oh, no, I’m sorry to hear you’re not feeling good. Yay for hopefully starting our buddy read soon!

OMG DB. I have started like 8 different books and finished none of them. Maybe it’s time to start The Witch King anyway 😂

😄 I’m sorry to hear that!
