A very successful week of reading, ticking a few books off lists this week!! In fact, this might be my most successful week yet?!
Of course, I finally finished a book that’s been on my ‘currently reading’ list since March, and was on my 24 in 24 challenge, so that’s nice. But I also managed to tick off two recent ebook purchases, and a book that’s been on my TBR since 2018, and was an AI pick from my June 2024 TBR. I did think this one was on my 12 in 12, but it appears that isn’t the case. I really do need to get cracking on that list…

While I admit I lost my way in the middle, the ending brought it back. Holly Black’s fae stories are the best.

I love The Foxhole Court books, but this fantasy novella didn’t hit the mark. The premise was great, but the story felt rushed. I would have loved to see this expanded more.

There’s more golf in this than I would have liked, but the romance was cute. And spicy. Definitely not one for those who prefer closed door scenes.

Read in one sitting. My first TJR book, and I’m not sure the others will beat it. I loved all of the characters — even the horrible ones were fascinating (Magnolia Parks could take a leaf from this book).
Ok, so this list is FINALLY down to four books, which is very exciting. Although, after finishing one book from it I then read three others that weren’t on it… oops?! Her Majesty’s Royal Coven is the next one on here I’d love to tick off. I’ve been switching between my physical copy and the audiobook, so we’ll see where we get to.
I haven’t picked up anything else since finishing The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo two days ago, and I’m just hoping that it hasn’t put me in a slump.
OK! So, A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle L. Jensen is the next book I need to tick off my June TBR. Mostly because it’s my Romance Revelry Society buddy read for June. Which I put forward. So I definitely need to read it!!
I did buy a bunch of ebooks while I was off work though, so I’ll like to make my way through some of them as well. Although I’m not sure why I’m prioritising my ebook TBR over my physical book TBR?!! The read percentage is a lot higher on the ebook side of the fence, Also, I don’t count them in my end of year TBR wrap up. Maybe I should readjust my priorities?!!
In 2022 I started reading the book series Under the Oak Tree by Suji Kim. It’s like a serial (each book is around 250-300 pages) and I found it because I had started reading the web comic series it’s based on. I read the first six books, and then it came to the end of ‘season one’ so I stopped. However, I got the next 5 books last week so I might start that again soon.

I’m glad you enjoyed Fangirl Down, I’ve been meaning to pick up that one! Also not sure how I’ll feel about the amount of golf in it 😂 Seven Husbands is currently the only TJR I’ve read – I have a couple others on my list but I haven’t been able to bring myself to start them yet for fear of disappointment 🙈
