Hello friends!! Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday — 11 September 2024!!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, where you answer the three following questions:
What did you recently finish?
What are you currently reading?
And, what do you think you’ll read next?
Let’s see what I have been reading… (All images will link to Goodreads if you click on them. Potentially.)

WWW Wednesday — 11 September 2024
So… that whole whooping cough and influenza A thing? It’s STILL a thing. Like, we’re now in the third week of these illnesses and I am so sick and tired. Mostly of being sick and tired. My GP sent me for scans yesterday and we found out that I am also highly allergic to the iodine dye they use in CT scans. That was terrifying.
I do have a bit less brain fog though, so have been catching up on blogging, which has been lovely. I’ve also (if you’re following me on Goodreads you’ll know) been READING. So. many. books. Like, it’s been a bit intense, but also really great.
Can confirm that I am 100% going to hit my Goodreads goal this month. I was kind of joking when I first said that earlier this year, but I’m about 6 books off my goal of 100 right now. And I’m not back at work until 23 September. So, consider it done, maybe by next week’s WWW Wednesday post.

Title: 7th Circle
Author: Tate James
Series: Hades #1
Released: 8 Jan 2021
Read: September 2024
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This felt eerily similar to the Madison Kate series, except I liked Hades more as a character. I accidentally spoiled something for the last book though.

Title: Anarchy
Author: Tate James
Series: Hades #2
Released: 26 Mar 2021
Read: September 2024
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really like the characters in this series, even though I would not want to be friends with any of them irl. Cliffhanger for book 2 is WILD.

Title: Club 22
Author: Tate James
Series: Hades #3
Released: 7 Jun 2021
Read: September 2024
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Reading these books while knowing a spoiler has been super weird. Like, I keep thinking I can see shadows where there might not be shadows. I was still not prepared for the end of Book 3 though.

Title: Timber
Author: Tate James
Series: Hades #4
Released: 3 Sep 2021
Read: September 2024
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I liked the ending of the Hades series better than the MK one. It felt conclusive even though not everything was neatly wrapped up. Good story.

Title: Vault
Author: Tate James
Series: Madison Kate #4.5
Released: 31 Oct 2021
Read: September 2024
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don’t think Vault was really necessary. It didn’t really add much to the story. I might just be over these books though.
So in yesterday’s Top 5 Tuesday post, we did anticipated five star reads. And The House for Lost Things is way up there for me. Which is part of the reason I’ve been putting off reading it. BUT, it is finally time. (I am not ready.)
I started crying in the first chapter, and I think I’m going to be pretty inconsolable throughout the whole book. Goddamn this story has already given me so many feels.
I’m reading an ebook (epub) version and I don’t really know how to annotate in it because I usually read Kindle (mobi) app. So I keep pausing reading to write quotes out and some reflections. I daresay that I will probably finish it tomorrow though. And I am going to be a soulless husk in another 200 pages.

I am going to need a light-hearted fluffy book for after The House for Lost Things wrecks my soul. I also need to start one of this month’s book club picks.
This Time It’s Real by Ann Liang is the Bookish Chaos Discord server’s September pick, and it looks sweet and lovely. Which I definitely feel like I need at the moment.
