Top 5 Tuesday topics: October-December 2023
Hello friends!! Welcome to the Top 5 Tuesday topics post: October-December 2023!!
Look, can I just say there seems to be some sort of wizardry happening this year. Probably last year too. Possibly even since the start of 2020. Some kind of time magic where the year(s) are absolutely just flying by, and I have run out of hours in every day to do all the things I used to do. I mean, I used to blog almost every day… where did that time go?!
Perhaps I just got out of the practice of it, and then my job (my amazing, awesome job that I love) required more brain energy and possibly a few more spoons. And I keep saying I’m going to come back and blog more, but then I seem to blog even less… And I have SEVENTY-THREE draft posts for all the T5T posts that I’ve missed (worst host ever), plus some more book and game reviews. I do want to catch up, but it’s just seeming a little insurmountable right now.
So, let’s start the last quarter of 2023 with some brand new topics, and I’m going to take it easier on myself and just draft a little something each day. And maybe by Christmas I won’t run and hide from my blog any longer.
Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm, and it is my absolute privilege and pleasure to say that it is now being hosted here, at Meeghan reads!!

3 October: Top 5 anticipated reads for October-December 2023
It’s time to talk about all the shiny new books coming out in the fourth and final quarter of 2023.
What are the books you can’t wait to hold in your hands the most?
10 October: Top 5 books with candy
I’m fairly certain that October is all dentist’s favourite (least favourite?) time of the year. Tell us about five books that have candy in them.
17 October: Top 5 books with pumpkins
You can either go full Jack-o-lantern, or maybe just a fall-themed story with pumpkins on the cover. Either way, we’re getting closer to creepy over here!
24 October: Top 5 books with a costume party
Costume party, dress up party, maskerade ball — whatever you want to call it, and it doesn’t even have to be at Halloween. I just want to hear all about those costumes!
31 October: Top 5 books about Halloween
FINALLY!! We have a Tuesday Halloween, so let’s do this properly!! Tell me all your fave books set at Halloween, or about Halloween, or that just happen to fall over 31 October.

Top 5 Tuesday topics: November 2023
7 November: Top 5 books with horses
I can’t believe I haven’t done this yet, but the first Tuesday in November is always the Melbourne Cup, Australia’s most famous horse race. So, tell me your favourite books with horses.
14 November: *freebie*
It’s been a while, so get your freebie on before we start our countdown with all the regular posts for the end of the year.
21 November: Top 5 books I’m thankful for in 2023
We don’t so Thanksgiving in Australia, so this one is for the Americans (and Canadians). Tell me your top 5 books that you read, bought, were gifted or loaned, in 2023. They don’t have to be your favourite reads as we’ll do that one later.
28 November: Top 5 books I meant to read in 2023
If you’re anything like me, this is a long list every year… so share your top 5 with us!!

Top 5 Tuesday topics: December 2023
5 December: Top 5 old (not new) authors of 2023
This one’s a newbie this year but since we always do new authors, tell us about your fave authors you read books from who you’ve previously read books by.
12 December: Top 5 new authors of 2023
Tell us all about your favourite new authors. Either debut authors from 2o23, or new-to-you this year.
19 December: Top 5 covers of 2023
What are some of your favourite covers that you have seen this year? Maybe these were reprints, redesigns or alternate covers that came out this year, or maybe they are brand new books!!
Whatever they are, tell us all the pretties you have been coveting.
26 December: Top 5 books of 2023
Did any of the books from your list in June make your final five? Let’s talk about the best books you’ve read in 2023!!

As always, please link your Top 5 Tuesday posts to a specific post (not just my homepage or a category page) otherwise I won’t get a notification. Or you can share your link in the comments of either this or my post on the day, and I will collate all your responses (that I can find) and share them!!
Which prompts are you looking forward to?

Thanks! I already posted a #T5T list today, before I knew the topic. I hope you don’t mind I made it a freebie, instead of anticipated Oct-Dec books!

Time gets faster and faster as we age. Per last week’s prompt there is a book out in paperback on Thurs by a Sheffield author Michael Wood which is about 10th in the series. The book shop has messaged to say they have it. I’m currently waiting for bf not seen for a week and half then I’m dragging him out to get the book. Anticipation is mounting! So excited on both counts!
