Top 5… red, orange and yellow covers!
FINALLY! We are caught up. And not a moment too soon. I apologise to all my subscribers for the spam email you received today. I promise not to do the same with all the book reviews that also didn’t schedule during May!
Today’s Top 5 Tuesday is ‘red, orange and yellow covers’, and is hosted by the super lovely Shanah over at the Bionic Bookworm. You can visit her here!
Let’s get started!

Let’s start with a cover that is actually all three (there is yellow on the spine). Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman is a YA sci-fi novel. The first book in thee Illuminae Files and absolutely not for the faint-hearted.

The Start of You and Me by Emery Lord is also a good mix of all three colours, but has a white background, and a touch of pink. This is a YA contemporary novel about heart break and moving on.

Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater is the fourth (and post final) novel in The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy (yes, I can count thank you). It has a pretty LA sunset with the silhouette of Cole on the covers.

You can’t really go past A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas for red covers. This is the start of the ACOTAR trilogy (now series) that was originally based on a Beauty and Beast retelling.

Possibly my favourite reddish cover of all time is Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. This cover is not only pretty, but really encapsulates the start of this amazing story. That open doorway just kind of invites you in, right?
Let me know if your fave is mentioned above, or what it is if it’s not. Happy reading!

OH I love that edition of Daughter of Smoke and Bone! I have the original American covers – while they’re pretty, they aren’t as pretty as that! Thanks for participating – added you to the list 🙂

Lovely covers. I have seen Illuminae pop up on a few people’s top 5 posts today. What is it about? And my cover for sinner is different from yours. Mine is black with a touch of Orange. You’re is lovely all the same. Have you read this book? Is it good? I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. It’s on my list I swear 😉 😛

Sinner was good, but I’m biased because I love ALL of Maggie’s books. The Illuminae Files are a YA sci-fi series, but they have a twist: they’re not written in a novel format. The story is pieced together through file notes and emails and messages and transcribed footage of videos. It’s nothing like a normal series, but it’s amazing. The story is also really easy to keep track of as well (which was surprising and awesome). I recommend it if you like YA, fantasy or sci-fi!

I love the Wolves of Mercy Falls collection but for some reason I haven’t read any more of Maggies work. May need to have a look at her other pieces, I feel.
That Illuminae does sound really good and I love YA, SCI-fi, and fantasy so it’s right up my street. Definitely going to check this book out. Thank you 😀
