Top 5… books I want to reread
Good morning bookworms!
Today’s Top 5 Tuesday is ‘books I want to reread’. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by the super lovely Shanah over at the Bionic Bookworm. You can visit her here, and join in for Top 5 Tuesday by checking out all the amazing topics we have coming up!
There are SO MANY books/series I own that I would LOVE to find the time to reread, but these ones especially.
The Upside of Unrequited was the first book I ever read by Becky Albertalli, and I loved it so much. I really connected with Molly, our protagonist (and cousin to Abby from Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda), and very much want to opportunity to go back and dive into her story again!
I have not read The Witches of Eileanan series by Kate Forsyth in … a VERY long time… and I desperately want to reread these books so much. Especially now that I feel like I have a better understanding of what makes a great fantasy novel, as opposed to just being captivated by a series when I am 15. (Which, you know, still happens now that I am much older than that!)
The Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor was my fave series I read in 2017, and I would love to read this again, especially if I can squeeze in the Night of Cake and Puppets novella into right place in the book as well! Yes to more Karou and Zuze – their friendship will be my BFF OTP for a long time!
I know that I only just read Emergency Contact by Mary H. K. Choi two months ago, but I loved it so much I almost reread it straight away. I did stop myself because there are only 5,398 on my TBR, but I do want to reread it again very soon!
This one is less a matter of if, and more a matter of WHEN. However, I will be reread The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air series) by Holly Black BEFORE NOVEMBER. Why November? Because The Queen of Nothing has been brought forward and I am ridiculously excited to read it immediately! But before I do, I want to reread these two so that I can soak up all the terrible things in them before the epic showdown! I mean, conclusion…
Until next time, happy reading ??

I have to admit I haven’t read any of these except DoSaB, and it didn’t do it for me. ?

Laini is a very acquired reading taste, I absolutely understand that. But, so are most of my other fave authors as well…

Lovely list! I actually haven’t read the Daughter of Smoke and Bone books, but I’ve heard such great things about them! And yes, I absolutely need to reread the Folk of the Air books! I’m DYING in anticipation for Queen of Nothing to release! 😀

I have got to get The Folk of the Air series – Holly Black’s older Fey series are an all time fave.

They’re all amazing!! I particularly love Ravus, Roiben, Kaye, Ben, Hazel and Servin, but also Jude and Cardan. TBH I think I just love characters that Holly creates. They’re all amazing!!

The Cruel Prince has been ordered…to be on my bookshelf this week 🙂

If you enjoy these ones, I highly recommend you read all Holly’s older Fae series. They’re all set in the same world and there are small character crossovers! ?

I’ve read Tithe, Ironside and Valiant. So if this series is as good and even has character cross-overs, I can’t wait!!

Yes!!! And there’s also the standalone The Darkest Part of the Forest. If you’ve read the first 3 already, I’d recommend Darkest next, and then the Folk of the Air trilogy ?

Thanks for that Meeghan! I didn’t know there was a recommended reading order – so I’ve ordered Darkest to read next, before Folk of the Air 🙂

Rereading The Upside of Unrequited would be a ton of fun. I really enjoyed it when I first read it.

I love those Laini Taylor covers, beautiful.
Meeghan reads
They are the UK covers. I love them so much more than the US ones!! ?

I don’t know why we get different covers to you, I noticed that a few times recently when I was trying to find and log the book I was reading on Goodreads.

I like to match the book cover I’m reading to the version on Goodreads, so I am constantly flipping through the different editions!!
*Flora*
I’m glad I’m not the only one to do that. Lol!
