Top 5 bookish content creators
Hello friends!! Welcome to Top 5 Tuesday!! This week’s topic is top 5 bookish content creators!!
Yes, we have finally hit our random month of odd topics for the year. Sometimes when I plan out the quarterly topics I go through my longlist of possible topics and pick out ones that kind of work together. Like in August we did family, orphans and found family books. But sometimes I just really want either some easy topics or some random, fun topics. And September is that month. Mostly because I don’t know what else to do with this month.
September is a bit weird. It’s just starting Autumn (or Fall) in the northern hemisphere, and down here it feels like we’re still slugging through winter — although this year, surprisingly, it’s actually been a bit warmer than recent years. Quite spring-like already in fact. Especially with the pollen. Which is just making all of my sickness so much worse. Thanks weather!
Where was I? Oh yes, bookish content creators!! Ok, so a million years ago I did a post on top 5 booktube creators, but I kind of fell off watching YouTube… a long time ago. I’ve done a few nomination posts for book bloggers too. But I’m also very bad at blog hopping, although I have been better at it this year than the past few years. One thing I have started this year though is podcasts. Mostly while I’ve been playing my cosy video games that require very little brain activity. I’ve also been back listening to the occasional audiobook too. But I find podcasts easier because it doesn’t matter if I don’t hear everything they say if I get distracted watching a cut scene or reading a quest.
The July to September 2024 topics are out now!! Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm, and is now being hosted here @ Meeghan reads.
Let’s go see my top 5 bookish content creators.

Paperfury

Ok, so I know I spoke above about how I’ve been bad at blog hopping, and I really have, but CG Drews (aka Paperfury) does so much more than her blog. In fact, if you haven’t checked out her Instagram account, or her Patreon account then you are MISSING OUT. Even if you’re only there for the weekly meme dump (exhibit A to the left), it’s so good. 1000% recommend.

Peachy Queen Cosplay
Georgia, who is the Peachy Queen Cosplay account, is just absolute perfection in ALL of her cosplays — videos and images. If you’re into Sarah J Maas books, or any kind of popular romantasy, then you need to check her out. She’s funny and insightful, and her costumes are *chefs kiss*.

Books Unbound

Books Unbound is the podcast that I am currently addicted to. And I do genuinely mean that. Ariel and Raeleen started their podcast in October 2019 and I am am about 100 episodes in at the moment. Yes, I did go back and start at the very beginning.
As well as the podcast they both have (or had) their own YouTube channels, Instagram accounts, Patreon account and merchandise store. And even though I read very different books than them, their voices as they talk about their passion of literature is just so lovely while I’m gaming. Like, they genuinely feel like people I could hang out with and that’s just so nice.

Ezeekat
Jaysen Headey is the person behind the Ezeekat content, and I am here for everything he does. While his account started as bookish content only, he has now branched out into board games, publishing books and (my secret favourite) whispers and crinkles where he opens toys. I can’t explain why this is so good and I’m not sorry.
Jaysen has the loveliest soul and comes across as the best kind of fun, nerdy, bookish introvert. I could not recommend his content enough. Even if you’re only there for the bookish parts.

Ali Learns to Read

Hello. I would LOVE to introduce you to Ali Lockhart. Ali writes the greatest book reviews that I have ever read in my whole entire life. Even if I rate the same book with a totally different score I still agree with everything she says. In fact, there are books that I would never have read without reading a review from Ali first.
But just when she’s getting used to severed heads suspended from the ceiling and the odd squish of an errant eyeball beneath her heel, Evie suspects this dungeon has a huge rat… and not just the literal kind. Because something rotten is growing in the kingdom of Rennedawn, and someone wants to take the Villain — and his entire nefarious empire — out.

Janette
I’ve never listened to a bookish podcast and really don’t need anymore ways of spending time on my phone. However all of these sound brilliant so I’m off to visit all of these sites. A great topic for this week.
