The Book Predictions tag
Good morning bookworms!
Because the lovely Shanah is still on a blog hiatus, and there’s no Top 5 Tuesday, all Tuesdays in July will be dedicated to catching up on tags! Which, will barely make a dint in the pile of tags I have HOARDED (like a dragon – seriously, I have 52 on my list, and that does not count doubles… maybe I need to dedicate a day to them every week for a while…).
I was tagged to do this by The Orangutan Librarian so thank you so much, Librarian, please accept these bananas as my virtual present to you ?????!! Also, “Oooook!!”

- Pingback to the creator of the tag, @bookprincessreviews

All of these prompts are your predictions for your…
… next read
I am probably going to try and smash through the Amulet series this week. I have volumes 1-5 on my shelf, and have been meaning to get to them for a couple of months now. Especially since every time I see the next book in the series I get this urge to buy it!! (I may have gotten volume 5 on the weekend…)
Amulet is a middle grade fantasy graphic novel series by Kazu Kibuishi.
… next 5 star read
If I’m not counting rereads (which I usually don’t), then I HOPE my next 5 star read will be A Question of Holmes by Brittany Cavallaro. I’ve had this on my TBR for a while now, but I really do need to finish this because it’s the last book in the Charlotte Holmes series and I want to know how it all ends!!
… next 1 star read
Oooof. I hope NONE of my next reads are 1 star reads… If I had to pick something off my TBR though, I’m going with A Conjuring of Light by V. E. Schwab. It’s no secret that I didn’t love A Darker Shade of Magic, and I’ve heard that the third book in the series is loooooong and could have been cut in half. So, it’s probably why I haven’t been jumping at the bit to continue reading this series.
… next love interest (or character that seems really cool to you)
Ummm, given the look of my TBR this month, probably none?? So… I’m not entirely sure. Given the amount of screaming I’m seeing over Crescent City though, I’m assuming that when I get to it (probably not any time soon), I might like Bryce or Hunt because that seems to be the new Maas trend. I have to say, I’m far more interested in the Nesta book coming in January because I love her. Yup, Nesta stan over here. And I think she has been treated appallingly, which I could wax lyrical about for hours, but alas, I will leave that for another post.
… next book you’ll be buying
I will (hopefully) be ducking into my local bookstore to find a copy of Take a Hint, Dani Brown. I adored Get a Life, Chloe Brown earlier this year (gosh, it feels like I read this forever ago), and this is a highly anticipated book for me!! I’m really just waiting for it to appear on the shelves so I can scoop it up and take it home!! But if it’s not there soon, I’ll have to order it in.
… next book that will leave you with a book hangover (and desperately wanting a reread or next in series)
Completely honestly, I am already hungover for this book. I’ve already preordered two copies of How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories, and I am CRAVING a reread of The Folk of the Air now. But alas, I am going to make myself wait until closer to November, despite already being trash. As a Cardan stan, I am so looking forward to seeing glimpses of him before and after the series, as well as parts of the story from him point of view. And what I am hoping for most is possibly alluded to in the title… I want to see Cardan’s reaction to Locke kissing Jude and being part of Locke’s “story”.
I’m not tagging anyone today, but if you haven’t done this tag and you want to, please add it to your list!! It was so much fun!!
What’s your next read?

I loved A Darker Shade of Magic but I’ve been putting off reading the rest of the series for a while now because those books are so long, and I’m very easily intimidated by long books ? I’m hoping that my next read will be The Henna Wars because I put it on my TBR for June but I’ve been reading my current read for so long that everything has been pushed back.

Oh I very rarely stick to my TBRs!! I’m a terrible mood reader, and this year I have been reading off Kindle Unlimited way more than anything else (which means my backlist TBR is getting out of control!!)

Loved reading this! So hard to predict a 1 star read haha, you’re probably not going to read a book if you think it will be 1 star?!

Never Not Reading
I’ll look forward to hearing your thoughts on Amulet! My students love it, but I haven’t given it a whirl yet.
meeghan

You’re welcome ?
Clo @ Cuppa Clo
You. Like. Nesta??? (though that did spark a possible new blog series and I would like my brain to settle down pls I’m getting idea overload atm) I still need to start that VE Schwab series and I also have SJM new book in the Crescent series to read (my mind blanked on the title we are doing well today xD)
meeghan
I DO!! I love Nesta. She reminds me of me when I was younger – for lots of reasons I won’t go into here. I find it really fascinating that a lot of people who hate Nesta love Elain, when really, Nesta did far more for her family than Elain ever did, but Elain gets away with it because she’s “sweet” and needs to be protected?? Nope. Nesta is a bitch, but she wears that label proudly.
I still haven’t read Crescent City either!! Too many books!!
Clo @ Cuppa Clo
See I strongly dislike Nesta AND Elain, probably Elain more so than Nesta because I remember thinking Elain is about as helpful as a wet paper towel ?
meeghan
Oh she’s worse than a wet towel, because at least if you wash/dry a wet towel it becomes useful again. Elain is like a wet, mouldy piece of cardboard. Just throw it out.

I will have NO CHILL when King of Elfhame releases, I absolutely cannot wait!
meeghan
HARD SAME!!! ???
theorangutanlibrarian
oh that makes sense about conjuring of light! (and a clever way to answer the question, cos I couldn’t think of anything). I’m craving more folk of the air as well!!
meeghan
I need all the special editions of Elfhame to match my other books!! ?
theorangutanlibrarian
hahaha! That makes sense!!
tasya @ the literary huntress
I didn’t enjoy ADSOM either but quickly fell in love in book 2 and the series ended up being my favorite by the time I finished it! ? I agree that the final book could be cut, but I love the characters so much I really enjoyed them 🙂
meeghan
Oooh, this is great news!! I’ve been putting off reading book 2 because I thought I might not enjoy it. Thank you!! ?
