    Top 5… Authors: K-O

Good evening bookworms! Late again, but this week it’s my fault… Today’s Top 5 Tuesday is authors from K-O, which is a continuation from last week’s topic! As I mentioned before, I’m also going to try and not do the obvious choices for letters (there won’t be any Jay Kristoff’s or Holly Black’s on my list) so long as I can find someone else (although you can bet that Maggie Stiefvater will be in the S spot)! Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by the super lovely Shanah over at the…

    ABC Book Challenge: L

Good morning bookworms! Quick life update: We have moved!! I am still living in a sea of boxes, but the cats were ok with the 8 hour car trip and settlement went through without any issues, so cheers all around! I will be returning to my regular scheduled posting in a couple more days. I still have many boxes to unpack and we have a bunch of new furniture coming on Monday. Ok, back to the post! During 2019 I am participating in the ABC Book Challenge! Previous letters: A…

Top 5… books set in your own country

Good morning bookworms! Today’s Top 5 Tuesday is ‘books set in your own country’. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by the super lovely Shanah over at the Bionic Bookworm. You can visit her here, and join in for Top 5 Tuesday by checking out all the amazing topics we have coming up! Ahhhh, Australia. There’s actually a really beautiful poem called My Country by Dorothea Mackellar that perfectly describes the Aussie landscape in all its stark beauty. You can read it HERE or you can listen to a recording of it…

    The 80's Movie tag

Good morning bookworms! A couple of weeks ago I was tagged by the lovely Siobhan at Siobhan’s Novelties to do the 80’s Movie tag. This tag was originally created by Ashley at Infinite Library and she created the cutest graphics to go along with it (that I’m pretty sure everyone has borrowed as well)! I’m pretty excited about this tag! However, despite being a child of the 80’s, my parents weren’t really into television and movies, instead preferring music and books, so I’ve actually not seen the majority of these films!…

Top 5… books I need to be a movie

Good morning bookworms! Today’s Top 5 Tuesday is ‘books I need to be a movie’. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by the super lovely Shanah over at the Bionic Bookworm. You can visit her here, and join in for Top 5 Tuesday by checking out all the amazing topics we have coming up! FYI, THIS POST IS GOING TO GET REAL… To be perfectly honest, I kind of hate book to movie adaptations (I also generally hate book to TV adaptations, so there’s no favouritism going on). The only ones that…

Top 5… books I want to reread

Today’s Top 5 Tuesday is ‘books I want to reread’, and is hosted by the super lovely Shanah over at the Bionic Bookworm. You can visit her here, and join in for Top 5 Tuesday by checking out all the amazing topics we have coming up! OK, I have to say, I actually started this reread on Sunday, totally by coincidence! I finished reading The Darkest Part of the Forest, and I had to start The Cruel Prince by Holly Black immediately afterwards. I wanted to see the parts where the…

  • Comfort books

So, when I’m not feeling well I tend to throw out whatever new release ‘to be read’ pile I have accumulated and there is a handful of books that I always fall back on.  They either invoke a feeling of comfort, or they remind me of a good time from my past (which is basically the same thing as invoking comfort…). I wouldn’t call it a long or a short list – kind of medium sized and just right to ensure there is always a book that the mood calls…
