    June ’20 TBR

Good morning bookworms! Look, I’ll be honest. I don’t even know HOW we are at the end of May already. There’s clearly some faulty timer or something else gone wrong with 2020, you know, as well as all the other stuff that’s gone wrong with this year… Anyway, separate from my big monthly wrap up that’s coming sometime next week, I’d just like to announce that I read TWO books on the May TBR – and that’s pretty good for me!! πŸ˜‚ It’s basically a victory, so let’s see if…

    O.W.L.s read-a-thon TBR 2020

Good morning book wizards and witches! IT’S O.WL.s TIME AGAIN!!! If you don’t know what O.W.L.s are then… you should read Harry Potter. OR you can watch Gintare’s video on YouTube about it!! But, very basically, Gintare (@BookRoast) runs a bi-annual read-a-thon based on the fifth and seventh year wizarding tests at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. O.W.L.s (Ordinary Wizarding Levels) are the fifth year tests, and in April we read a bunch of books that correspond to prompts the Gintare changes each year. The aim is to pick…

  • Wrap-up and TBR banner with a selection of books with red spines

January ’20 wrap up and February TBR

Good morning bookworms! It’s time for the monthly wrap-up for January! During January I read 9 books. Which was totally fine, unless you look at my reading pattern, which was kind of a joke!! (Week 1: nothing, week 2: 7 ebooks, week 3: 1 audiobook, week 4: nothing, last 4 days of month: 1 physical book.) I was kind of all over the place with our renovations and family stuff and we had a big BBQ at our place and the fires – I mean, the fires are still going……

    N.E.W.T.s read-a-thon TBR 2019

Good morning book wizards and witches! Today I am announcing my NEWTs read-a-thon TBR! (Which is actually mildly hilarious/ironic if you read myΒ Off Tangent Thoughts post on me doing read-a-thons…) So, if you don’t know about O.W.L.s and/or N.E.W.T.s you can click on my post from last year HERE, or you can go watch G @ Book Roast’sΒ videos (2019 OWLsΒ and 2019 NEWTs). Now, I know that TECHNICALLY most people did their NEWTs in August, however, I had this post drafted and ready to go, but then I decided to do…

  • Book recommendations: Overwatch

    Book recommendations: Overwatch edition #1

Good morning bookworms! So, if you know anything about me (except that I love books and cake), you’ll know that I am low-key obsessed with Overwatch. Admittedly, my team in the Overwatch League (New York Excelsior – picked prior to Stage 1 last year as Gansey’s catchphrase is ‘Excelsior!’) isn’t doing too well with the new meta (which is really odd because surely Pine and Saebyeolbe should be back in fine form as DPS?!); however, this is not what I’m here to talk to you about today! If you’re not…
