• Sunshine Blogger Award #10

Good morning bookworms! I’M BAAAAAAAACKK!! (But like, not in that terrifying murder-clown way. Just like, in the normal, ‘hey, it’s been a while, nice to see you’ way!!) For those of you unaware, that pesky chest infection that took me down is actually pneumonia… and I’ve been at home for what feels like WEEKS binge watching a lot of Miraculous and Critical Role… Try not to analyse this combination too much… So, I guess the update is: I’m still sick and at home, but I’m starting to feel better… and hey,…

    Top 5… non-cats!

Good morning bookworms! Today’s Top 5 Tuesday post actually doesn’t exist because Shanah is taking a mini hiatus. However, I don’t know what to do with Tuesdays any more, so I’m still here ranting about something… Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by the super lovely Shanah over at the Bionic Bookworm. You can visit her here, and join in for Top 5 Tuesday by checking out all the amazing topics that are coming up! This week I’m merging a list topic I’ve been thinking about for AGES, with what is essentially a…

Off Tangent Thoughts… when someone interrupts my reading

Good morning bookworms! Today we are doing another Off Tangent Thoughts (OTT) which was created by Charvi @ Not Just Fiction. This fortnight’s topic is thoughts I have when someone interrupts my reading. I need to start this one with a disclaimer… 99% of the time my reading is interrupted it’s my husband. The other 1% is when I actually get to take a book to work AND read it during my lunch break… which is not very often! *am reading* *hears something in background* *ignores and keeps reading* huh……

Off Tangent Thoughts… while writing book reviews

Good morning bookworms! Sorry I’m late!! I spent all day yesterday finishing the secret beta read, and messaging with the authors, and stayed up way too late! Then this morning I slept in, and woke up in time to watch NY Excelsior (my babies – yes, I picked them because Gansey’s catchphrase is ‘Excelsior’) get beaten by Vancouver in the Overwatch League stage 2 semi-finals and now I am so sad! 😭💔 So today we are doing something slightly different. Charvi @ Not Just Fiction has started a series called Off…

    Mini life update 2018

Hi guys! I hope you had a nice Christmas, and best wishes for the coming New Year! I’ve decided to postpone the remainder of my posts I had planned for the last week of the year. The reason behind this is that we didn’t have a great Christmas. We were away visiting family from the 22nd, and on Christmas Eve our house was broken into and burgled. The thieves stole about $20,000 (AUD) worth of our stuff, including my husband’s motorbike, our new TV, all the gaming consoles (and games),…

You can check out both of their blogs in the links above. You can read the rules for the Liebster Award over at the Global Aussie here, but otherwise, lets get right into these questions, firstly from Thad: 1. What’s the worst book you’ve ever read? Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. And I’m not even sorry about saying it. It’s not the play format (Rosencrantz and…

  • Not so crash hot…

So I haven’t been feeling particularly well over the last couple of weeks.  I think I hide it pretty well at work, but the last week in particular has been a bit hard.  I’ve worked from home for an afternoon and we were off-site one day anyway. I had my latest treatment at the hospital on Friday morning.  My doctor has changed my schedule from receiving the infliximab infusion from every eight weeks to every six weeks.  Recent blood tests have shown that the medication isn’t staying in my blood…

  • It’s a cat life…

So, partner and I have three (yes, you saw that right, THREE) cats.  I’m going to introduce them now because it is likely that I will talk about them lots.  They have real names, but that’s not what we refer to them as.  We call them The Cat, The Kitten, and The Fluffy. The Cat So this one is our eldest.  She will be 5 years old on Boxing Day (2016).  She’s a blue-grey russian, domestic short haired female cat.  She is a sooky bitch (and I say this with…
