    May ’20 wrap-up

Good morning bookworms! 2020 has been a time. One of my friends was joking that she and her sister are going to make a tour band style t-shirt for 2020, but instead of concerts, it’s just going to be all the shit that is going on in the world this year against each month. I imagine it’s going to look something like this: January | Bushfires February | Floods March | Global pandemic April | Isolation May | Murder hornets

    April ’20 wrap-up

Good morning bookworms! April… jeez… I’m glad that’s over!! The world is still in isolation… Am I doing anything productive?? Not really!! Let’s talk about what happened last month… I survived the O.W.L.s, and managed to hit all the prompts I needed in order to go for the careers I want for my N.E.W.T.s!! I almost missed Potions because I couldn’t find a book under 150 pages – and at the last hour (literally between 11pm and midnight on 30 April) I just decided to reread a comic. But I…

    Top 5… sanity savers!

Good morning bookworms! Today’s Top 5 Tuesday is ‘sanity savers – things I’m enjoying while in isolation!’ Because so help me, I am starting to lose my mind… In saying that, today is day number… twenty-six that I have been in isolation. Now, that’s a lot for Australia. We had our first confirmed case in Canberra on 12 March, and I have been in lockdown / isolation / quarantine (whatever you want to call it) since Friday 13 March. Why? Because I am immunosuppressed. My immune system does this super…

    March ’20 wrap-up

Good morning bookworms! Let’s talk about March… ooof. I am telling you, someone needs to pull the plug on 2020 and let’s just restart this year, because between fire, floods and worldwide pandemic, I am done with 2020, and we’re only one quarter through. On a happier note, let’s talk about all the GOOD things from last month.   I read, a surprising, 9 books in March. Now, I know 9 isn’t normally a surprising number for me; however, up until the 28th of March I had only finished 5…

February ’20 wrap up and March TBR

Good morning bookworms! It’s time for the monthly wrap-up! During January… I got sick and had 2 migraines (new record). I also didn’t read anything for 11 days. That’s a pretty good record. Reading though? I read 6 books… which is the equal lowest number of books read per month in the last two years. (June 2019 was also 6 books!) Also, two of the books that I finished were even on my TBR for February, so I basically won because that never happens! However, I’m trying not to beat…

January ’20 wrap up and February TBR

Good morning bookworms! It’s time for the monthly wrap-up for January! During January I read 9 books. Which was totally fine, unless you look at my reading pattern, which was kind of a joke!! (Week 1: nothing, week 2: 7 ebooks, week 3: 1 audiobook, week 4: nothing, last 4 days of month: 1 physical book.) I was kind of all over the place with our renovations and family stuff and we had a big BBQ at our place and the fires – I mean, the fires are still going……

    Life update – mini hiatus

Good afternoon bookworms This is just a very small post to say that … well, I’m tired! I had all of these grand plans to start 2020 off with a bang, but between the crazy insane hot weather here, the threat of bushfires, and the smoke, I’m feeling a bit stressed at the moment. On top if all of this, I didn’t have the break I normally take over Christmas/New Year’s from work – it’s coming later this month – and we also had my brother’s wedding… outside… on my…

    2020 challenges and goals

Good morning bookworms! Welcome to my rant post where I’ll be discussing all the things I want to accomplish this year, while simultaneously whining about how I signed up for too many things last year, and oh yeah, I still haven’t read a book yet in 2020.* As per 2019, I have signed up to a LOT of challenges for 2020. And by that I mean, more than I can cope with. HUZZAH!! 🎉 So, we’ll do a quick challenge overview, talk about how I’m going to tackle this each…

    2019 WRAP-UP!!

Good afternoon bookworms! Ahhh… the dreaded annual wrap-up. I mean, it’s not really “dreaded”… it just takes me ages to write and so I procrastinate it forever. Except, this year I was pretty good at keeping my spreadsheets up to date, so *hopefully* this won’t be as terrible as my brain is making it out to be!!* PS: This is going to be another long post, so apologies in advance! * Spoiler, it was just as bad as last year!! I did NOT fill out that spreadsheet as well as…

December ’19 wrap up and January TBR

Good morning bookworms! It’s time for the final monthly wrap-up for 2019, the December wrap-up! During December I read an excessive amount of books. For me. A grand total of 18 books, which is definitely my highest monthly total for the year!! This mostly had to do with Sam @ Fictionally Sam’s Mrs Claus’ Readathon, but also probably to do with the sheer number of romance novels I devoured (why can’t I read fantasy this quickly?!*). Book Author Series Format Rating (/5) Cover Masterson Lisa Lang Blakeney The Fixer #1…

BE Winter ’19: Ways a Villain Could Ruin the Holidays

Good evening bookworms! You all thought I forgot that I signed up for BE Winter, didn’t you?! Well, you’re probably right. I kept thinking to myself “there’s something that I meant to post this month…” and I just couldn’t remember. But then when I started to catch up on blog-hopping and I was seeing all the posts, that still didn’t remind me. In fact, it was only when I went to look at the master list yesterday that I remembered… after seeing my own name!! This post is part of…

  • Sunshine Blogger Award #10

Good morning bookworms! I’M BAAAAAAAACKK!! (But like, not in that terrifying murder-clown way. Just like, in the normal, ‘hey, it’s been a while, nice to see you’ way!!) For those of you unaware, that pesky chest infection that took me down is actually pneumonia… and I’ve been at home for what feels like WEEKS binge watching a lot of Miraculous and Critical Role… Try not to analyse this combination too much… So, I guess the update is: I’m still sick and at home, but I’m starting to feel better… and hey,…
