Questions from Nina
What’s your favourite era / decade? Why?
I have to say between 1997 and 2007. I know it’s like mid-decades, but I was in highschool and just afterwards. I love the music from that time (so so many amazing bands that I still listen to), and it also covers the time that I lived in the UK (and went to a midnight book launch for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on my birthday).
If you want a reason that doesn’t revolve around my life, I’d go with 2000-2010. Technology is just starting to really take off, medical advances are happening and the global community is starting to evolve. The Renaissance era was pretty cool in terms of art though (and only lasted about 20 years).
What’s your least favourite genre to read? Why?
Thriller and horror stories for sure. I am an absolute scaredy-cat and watched far too many twilight zone, x-files and zombie things when I was a youngling. I was also subjected to a vinyl recording of War of the Worlds at the age of seven, permanently freaking me out about aliens and world invasions for the remainder of history (thanks, parents). Surprisingly I didn’t develop an aversion to reading sci-fi.
What’s your favorite day of the week?
Saturday! It’s my first sleep in of the week. Hubby and I usually make something delicious for brunch, and you have the whole of the weekend stretching out in front of you with endless possibilities. ?
Do you sing along with your favorite song when you hear it?
I sing along to basically every song that I have even the smallest inkling of the words. So, yes.
What’s your favorite movie / Show? Why?
Oh man. I’m still procrastinating about the Television Shows tag for this reason. I have to say, I’m a Marshmallow. I love Veronica Mars. More than anything else. Only just, but it reigns supreme. (Mostly I love her sarcasm and wit. Also I’m 100% #teamlogan)
Text message or call?
TEXT!! I hate phone calls more than talking to people in person. It’s because I can’t read facial expressions, but I still have to be quick in responding. I also find it hard to concentrate on calls because I get distracted easily. However, calls do force me to respond immediately (when I answer). I prefer texts because I can think about what to say, but at the same time, sometimes I think about it for so long I talk myself out of responding…
Do you read before bed?
Usually. Sometimes. I used to a lot more. But I have been lately.
Salt or sweet?
Basically this answer comes down to Cadbury pineapple chocolate or cheezels. YOU CAN’T MAKE ME CHOOSE.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
NO. (I really don’t have anything more to add to this.)
Name one book you read (or bought) because of the cover
Ink by Alice Broadway. (I did DNF it, but I’ve been recommended to go back and read it because it’s worth it. I’m considering it.)

awwww thank you so much for the nomination! ? these are awesome questions and I look forward to answering them!
the 2000s are pretty cool, but I’m definitely biased because that’s the decade when I was developing a personality and all that … globally though, the development of technology, communication, and science is definitely awesome too! I’m also a scaredy-cat so I can relate, horror and gore creep me out and thrillers leave me paranoid and sleepless. (I mean, Roald Dahl’s The Witches gave me nightmares for *months*) I always sing along if I’m alone, and my roommate has definitely caught me mouthing lyrics ? ever since I got hired through a phone interview last semester (just an on-campus job, nothing fancy) I’ve been less averse to the medium, and it is nice if I’m just catching up with family or very close friends, though if it’s going to be a long one I’d rather also have visual, ie Facetime or Skype – but for quick questions and sharing memes and “where are you”, texts are definitely preferred. also also also, I’m such a sucker for pretty book covers, they rival recs from other bloggers for biggest contributor to my TBR!

?? Izzy, you’re amazing. I agree with really close friends and family phone calls being great. But everyone else can text! I especially hate work phone calls. I like to be able to dig up all the info so I can give them an informed response!! (I don’t like being put on the spot)
Isabelle @ BookwyrmBites
OMG yes work calls are so stressful! and honestly if it’s for school or work I strongly prefer email, maybe because it feels a little more formal and I know how to format a reply? ?

Exactly!!!!

I sing along to music all the time, even though I have an awful voice. I just can’t help myself. I think my least read genre for me is science fiction.
Enjoyed reading!

+ I love Saturday as well, it's just such a well-rested day + I also love Friday because everyone is so excited and making plans. and i let myself eat as much junk food as I want on Friday night, which makes me so happppy
I am so bad at texting and calling people too!!!! i'm constantly losing my phone or forgetting to turn it off silent, so I accidentally ignore everyone who loves me, this is why i'm alone. it's a mess
Meeghan reads
Yes, silent is awful, but equally amazing!! I’ve started accidentally leaving my phone on “do not disturb” which I kind of love… ?

Ahh thank you for the nomination, your questions look really fun!
I agree with you on the call thing… I never noticed how much I rely on facial expressions until I started having to actually talk to people without seeing them.
I also bought Ink because of the cover and ended up DNFing it hehe oops.
Meeghan reads
I’m so glad there is someone else who DNF’ed Ink!! Everyone else I know who read it said it was great… ?
Keira
Yeah I think it just wasn’t for me :/
