Questions from Siobhan
Which authors are on your do-not-read list?
Uhh… none? I’m more of a genre skipper than an author skipper…
However, say, for example, an author goes batshit crazy and starts stalking readers who may have given them a bad review, that’s when I’m less likely to support them.
Which blogger has the most impact on you?
This is so hard!! OK, there’s a few. I love Kat’s aesthetic, and I love Cait’s style of writing.
But in terms of what they do for the blogging community, then I really can’t go past Taylor, May, Kal, Shanah, Sam, Clo and Veronika. Don’t get me wrong, I love SO MANY of you out there and you all do so much, but these amazing peeps have showcased a lot of great bloggers, started annual awards, run weekly memes, or invited me to contribute to something. (And apologies to Veronika because I just kept forgetting to respond on Twitter… ? I’m so sorry!!)
What book caused your latest book slump?
I, thankfully, haven’t had a book slump for quite some time!!
Which villain do you like the most?
Well… I’m pretty sure that Victor Vale from V. E. Schwab’s Vicious is a villain… but I like him a lot nonetheless!! (In saying that, I think Eli Ever is worse… so?!)
What is your last five-star read?
A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer, without a doubt!! What an amazing sequel, and I cannot believe that I need to wait a whole nother year for book three!!
What OTP did you wish survived but didn’t?
I can’t talk about it, but it’s in Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo!! If you’ve read the book, please keep it to yourself, because spoilers are worse than Umbridge.
What book do you want to read next?
Well… I have a whole Backlist that I want to get a chunk read from this year… but I’m a mood reader, so… it could be anything, really!
What book do you want to be turned into a TV show or movie?
I think American Royals by Katharine McGee would make for HIGHLY entertaining television!!
Who is your favourite character in the last book you read?
This is going to sound weird, but I don’t have a favourite character in the Curse Workers series (White Cat, Red Glove, Black Heart) by Holly Black because they’re all kind of evil… Maybe Sam? He seems kind of innocent. Or Cassel’s grandfather – I think he’d protect Cassel… but I don’t even really like Cassel that much!!
Which novel do you wish you never read?
Oooof. I have a list. Wuthering Heights, Hush, Hush and The Casual Vacancy are ALL on it.
What is your guilty pleasure show?
The CW’s reboot of Dynasty for sure!! Except you know, because I’m in Australia, we won’t be seeing season 3 until May / June 2020 on Netflix…
Tagging
I still have like 5 or 6 more of these Sunshine Blogger awards to go before I catch up, so if you’d like me to tag you, please let me know below!! (Including people who I have already tagged if you want another round!!)

I am SO with you on Wuthering Heights!

That book seriously needs to be thrown out, or at least had a warning added to it: THIS IS NOT A LOVE STORY, but a tale of what domestic abuse can look like.
*shudders*

Meeghan!! Thank you so much for the kind words! You know your blog/posts mean almost as much to me as your support and this totally made my day!! Also you’ve encouraged me to dive into A Heart So Fierce like now lol! Hope you’re having a wonderful start to 2020!

Thanks Taylor!! Being featured on your blog made back in 2018 made me focus more on mine, and it’s grown so much since then!! Your support has meant the absolute world to me. ?
Also, my review for AHSFAB is up in the morning!! I’m so excited for you to see it!!
Nerd Narration
Awww! That makes my heart so happy. I’ve been in such a major slump, which I’m sure you noticed since I was completely mia, but hearing that makes me feel like I still was “present” if you will! I will absolutely check out your review and I’ll keep you posted on my progress when I dive into that book! ??
Clo @ Cuppa Clo
Aaaah I love you <3 And ugh I'm with you on Crooked Kingdom *sobs an ocean*

Oh my god, you mentioning me as a blogger who’s impacted you is the best thing ever!! Thank you, Meeghan, you’re definitely one of the bloggers who inspires and influences me and my content. 🙂 Victor Vale is the best villain, and one I was rooting for from start to finish of Vicious, haha. Noo, why did you bring up the ship that sinks (or, rather, dies) in Crooked Kingdom!? *cries all the tears* Such a shocking, heartbreaking moment. Wuthering Heights is one of the worst books I’ve ever read, and I don’t even care that it’s a classic. Hush Hush is up there as well, although I did at least like that as a teen, lol. I used to watch Dynasty on Netflix, I need to get back to it, I was in the beginning of the second season when I stopped. Great post, Meeghan! 🙂

Thanks Veronika!! You are too kind!! ??
May @ Forever and Everly
aaahh Meeghan!! thank you so much for naming me as a blogger who has impacted you — it’s surreal to think I could have that kind of influence on anyone and I’m very honored by your words ? and I’m glad to see you enjoyed A Heart so Fierce and Broken! I haven’t read the first book yet, but I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews of AHSFAB so I’m happy there are a few people who weren’t disappointed <3
Isabelle @ Nine Tale Vixen
I was definitely also Team Victor from the start, but Vengeful honestly made me question so much about the characters and their backstories and their motives. and now I have a NEED to reread the duology, though my TBR is screaming …
also omg I hadn’t thought about [redacted] from Crooked Kingdom in ages ? (it’s fine. i didn’t need my heart.)
I have vague memories of struggling through Wuthering Heights after some protagonist in another book kept going on about how it was her favorite, but I remember literally nothing about the actual narrative. I have an impression of strong setting and unhealthy relationships, but not much else honestly. which is totally fine, lol
Meeghan reads
I thought Schwab was writing a third book in the villains series?!
(You’re welcome ??)
It’s so unhealthy!! It’s essentially domestic abuse!! And everyone goes on about how it’s so romantic… it’s all loud professions of love, followed by emotional manipulation and verbal abuse. It’s horrible. If that was my friend or family member I’d be recommending they leave that person and go get some help.
Isabelle @ Nine Tale Vixen
omg is she???? I am absolutely terrible at keeping up with series tbh, but of course I couldn’t say no to another Villains book!
yup, I’ve been planning to reread some classics this year but Wuthering Heights is definitely not on the list – once was bad enough. it’s definitely awful that so many people seem to think that’s how a relationship should look ?
theorangutanlibrarian
Loved Victor Vale!! Ahh completely agree with you about Matthias! I could’ve done without reading hush hush too.
Meeghan reads
Victor is such an interesting character!! I’m so intrigued by him, but I still need to read Vengeful… ?

My apologies for only now spotting this but you’ve linked the wrong Nerd Narration to Taylor’s name. As much as I would like to be linked by others, I totally don’t deserve any of the credit.

Oh thank you for letting me know!! I’ll fix it!!
