September 2021 book haul

Hello bookworms!! Welcome to the September 2021 book haul!! A monthly post where I usually shame myself for never achieving my goal of buying less than I read, or sticking to my buying goal.

Or at least I did in July and August anyway. I was clearly feeling so confident and pleased with my last two hauls that I decided to celebrate and reward myself. By buying more books. *cue disaster striking*

I also totally forgot to skip some book boxes in August, which didn’t really turn out all that bad as most of the books actually sound really good. But I will be selling some, so hopefully this won’t hurt my (already overflowing) bookcases too much!!

In case you aren’t aware (which, fair, because I never made an announcement post, although I do mention this every month) my goal for each month is to only purchase 7 books, split between purchased books and books from book boxes. So, 7 paid books in total. But also I need to read more books than I collect each month, including review books. So it’s kind of a 2-part goal. That I very rarely meet. But, rules are made to be broken!! When it comes to book hauling anyway…

So, let’s go see the books I hauled in September!!

book boxes

I subscribe to three monthly boxes: OwlCrate (which I sometimes skip and sometimes swap to OwlCrate Jr), FairyLoot and the book-only subscription for Illumicrate. I also subscribe to the quarterly book-only option for LitJoy. Plus I sometimes buy the special edition books they put out, but only if I loved the series, or I got the special edition of book 1 as part of the monthly box.

So, here is where I’m up to as at the end of August:

  • 💟 = arrived in a previous month
  • ✅ = arrived this month
  • 🚚 = in transit
  • ➡️ = skipped
  • 🅿️ = parked (not out yet)
  • ❎ = did not switch to
  • ❌ = confirmed that it was lost to the mail gremlins (but thankfully refunded)

Honestly, there are so many amazing books in here (and one Patterson because I am addicted to this series). I cannot wait to scream at everyone later about Lakesedge!! It was so amazing!! And The Heart Principle didn’t disappoint either!! ❤️

Also, I FOUND MY UNICORN BOOK. And I got it!! *cue crying* Yes, I finally got a Goldsboro edition of Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow. Honestly, I never thought I was going to get a copy under $300AUD, as there are only 250 of these babies in the world. But I found it on eBay and was the successful bidder. And now it’s pride of place on my shelves with my other Goldsboro editions of this series. It’s not the matching number (because can you even imagine if I found that?!), but it doesn’t matter. I’m going to have a FULL SET!!

review copies

And finally, ONE review copy!! Unsolicited, and it’s very far down my to-read list… like, maybe next year. Or 2024.
