September '19 book haul

Good morning bookworms!
Book haul categories are as follows:

  • book boxes
  • book purchases (book mail, instore and digital)
  • review copies (book mail and digital), and
  • bookish items (book related, but not actual books).

I subscribe to three monthly boxes: OwlCrate, FairyLoot and the book-only subscription for LitJoy. Here is what arrived in September:

  • FairyLoot’s July box FINALLY ARRIVED. The theme was Magic in the City, and the book was Wicked Fox by Kat Cho
  • OwlCrate’s September theme was Fear the Night, and the book was The Bone Season by Emily Lloyd-Jones
  • I also got the Fox and Wit special edition box for Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff. I don’t have a picture of the alternate cover, BUT you can go to Kira’s instagram account and see it HEEEEEEEEEEERE!! (Make sure to click/flick through to see the entire cover!)

I am *still* waiting for my September LitJoy and FairyLoot to arrive… I don’t even think I’ve received a postage notification for FairyLoot yet… has anyone else gotten theirs??

This list is SLOWLY getting smaller… slowly…

OK, so I know there’s a lot of Darkdawn on here… (also, I had that early copy last month too) but this is the last you are likely to see of this book on any of the hauls, so just indulge me a little!! (But yes, I have 5 copies…)
Also, I already own and have read The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli, however, she came to Melbourne and I couldn’t get back to see her, so my lovely friend Fatima got a copy for me, and IT’S SIGNED!! ?
And finally, the copy of Chamber of Secrets is a bit unique. See, I was at the Lifeline Bookfair in Canberra, and I happened to wander past the special editions section… and there was a hardcover first edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets… so I grabbed it (for $18!!). Also, it’s a bit unique because it’s the Canadian version. So now I have first editions for UK, Australia and Canada.

This is MUCH BETTER!! Like, ALLLL of the better!!

It’s so achievable I’ve already read it!! I mean, it doesn’t hurt that it was one of my most anticipated books this year!!

OK, so I know I’ve been REALLY slack with taking photos for this section, but I promise I will get organised this month and take photos of my pins for next month!!

Clip from Harry Potter where Harry says to Neville "That's a promise."
