October ’19 wrap up

Good morning bookworms! It’s time for the October wrap-up!

During October I read 13 books – which is an appropriately spooky number!! I also finally read the remainder of the Bloodlines series, and I think I loved it more than Vampire Academy… I just, love Sydrian so much!! ? (Also, I don’t know if “Sydrian” is a thing, but I’m making it a thing…)

I think my favourite book for the month was actually American Royals by Katharine McGee. I was such a sucker for the drama and the heartache, and SO MANY TROPES. I can’t believe the sequel is a year away… fingers crossed there’s 20 more books to come!!

Also… I didn’t write ANY book reviews during October… so now I have a million to catch up on!!

*cough* I’m actually a little bit over TBRs at the moment… again. I think after my complete disaster of a month during October I’m just going to go back to my mood reader ways and not come up with anything!!

Look, I’m going to own this. I went hardcore at the start of the month… then I calmed down about 1/3 of the way in. And then I died. (Well, not DEAD dead… just really sick.) But, you know, it was a good run while it lasted!! I did pick up again towards the end though…

However, in case you haven’t seen them, these were my four Bookending Autumn prompts that I hosted!!

FALL in Love *

* Classic me… I totally forgot the name of the prompt when I was making banners so only called it Fall in Love…?!

So, as I’ve mentioned about 100 times now, during October I was one of the hosts for Bookending Autumn. And so many of you supported me in this – it was so beautiful!! So, these are all the people who did my prompts and tagged me in them:

I am far behind on blog-hopping again (so you’ll see some October faves in November), however, there were some other pretty amazing posts out there this month that I did see!! These are some of my faves that I saw:

  • Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane books wrote the most gorgeous post about ‘making it’ as a book blogger. And I am here for all the feels it gave me!!
  • In a really similar vein to this, Meaghan @ The Words Gremlin wrote a gorgeous post on how to support book bloggers. She has even broken it down into free and paid support!!

October was a weird month… it started off very busy (which wasn’t a surprise), but then as I got a chest infection, traveled for work, and got sicker, it became very slow.  The whole last 10 days of the month I spent a lot of time sleeping, napping and binge watching tv, as books were hard to concentrate on at times.

With all that in mind, I watched a LOT of Miraculous. In fact, I rewatched it from the start and am now caught up to the rest of the world (we don’t really get it in Australia unless you have cable) and so that makes me a little bit happy. Except I can’t binge watch any more because I’m back to waiting for weekly episodes again!! I also watched a lot of Critical Role (campaign 2) and caught up on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina!

Text: I'm officially a fan of Miraculous Ladybug and Chat Noir. Image of Ladybug and Cat Noir playing in the street. They are a superhero duo who save Paris and are secretly in love with each other.

What did you do in October?

I liked Going Off Script (I really love that it’s in the same universe as her other books and there are character crossovers!!) and I was surprised how much I loved American Royals!! I hope you enjoy both when you get to them!!

What a great month Meegs!! I also hope you’re feeling much better ❤ You had such a great reading month, and I absolutely loved doing the Study Group and Spicy Pumpkin Latte tags!! I’m also super glad that you enjoyed Vicious, and I think I’m going to check out American Royals, because so many people have raved about it as well and I’m super curious now.
Anyways, I hope you have an awesome November ❤

I’m super-glad to see that you rated A Study in Charlotte 4 stars – I’m planning to binge the series one of these days, so it’s good the hear the first book is enjoyable. Also, happy you’ve enjoyed the Bloodlines series – I used to be a massive fan of them. 🙂 I should go back for a reread – but VA first. I really liked The Summer Palace too! Hope you’re feeling better and that your November will be amazing! 🙂
