N.E.W.T.s read-a-thon TBR 2019

Good morning book wizards and witches!
Today I am announcing my NEWTs read-a-thon TBR! (Which is actually mildly hilarious/ironic if you read my Off Tangent Thoughts post on me doing read-a-thons…) So, if you don’t know about O.W.L.s and/or N.E.W.T.s you can click on my post from last year HERE, or you can go watch G @ Book Roast’s videos (2019 OWLs and 2019 NEWTs).
Now, I know that TECHNICALLY most people did their NEWTs in August, however, I had this post drafted and ready to go, but then I decided to do ARC August at the last moment instead… So, this is now my October TBR! (Yes, I am going to post a lot for BE Autumn AND read a lot for my NEWTs. The end of the year is coming and I will be BUSY!!)

Careers

So, if you cast your mind back to April, I completed my 2019 OWLs and at the end, I was still able to move forward with three of my chosen Wizarding Careers:

  • Auror
  • Healer
  • Magizoologist

Which means, that if I complete the prompts I can quit my job and run off to join one of the below careers! I can move forward with the NEWTs for these careers, which I’ve very helpfully compiled into the below table.

NEWTs TBR

So, with all of that in mind, these are my prompts and potential* books I will read for the NEWTs read-a-thon.

* I always change my mind (mood reader extraordinaire here) and then retrofit it, but this is a good start!!
Now, I know what you’re going to say… The Falconer has been on my ‘currently reading’ list for MONTHS. You’re right, it has. However, I have still only read 25 pages (or 7%) and I will be starting again, because all I can remember is that there’s a ball…? Which means I can count it!
Also, thanks to Roz (@seventyeight.sundays) for picking my friend recommendation. I have never heard of Magic Bites, the Kate Daniels series or Ilona Andrews before now! And speaking of this book, I still need to obtain a copy of it and Bloom prior to reading them!!

Forbidden Library

G has also added in a Forbidden Library section. If, for whatever reason, you don’t want to fill in one of the prompts, you have the option of reading the book in the forbidden library. This read-a-thon’s book is Spellslinger by Sebastien de Castell, which actually works out so great for me, as it’s already on my Beat-the-Backlist challenge!

Have you done your NEWTs? What books did you read for it?
