March 2021 TBR
Hello bookworms!! Welcome to the March 2021 TBR post.
So… it’s been a hot minute since I’ve written a TBR. In fact, I believe the last one I did was in October last year. Mood reading generally gets me good, but I’m going to try and perform a miracle this month.
The reason why I’m doing a TBR again this month is that I will be participating in Middle Grade March. So, expect to see a lot of middle grade book below in my list – five that correspond to the prompts for MGM, and just some others that I want to tick off my TBR.
March 2021 TBR
Middle Grade March
As I mentioned above, there are only FIVE prompts for Middle Grade March, which is awesome. There is also a group-read book… but I want to tick off books that I already have – not buy more – so I won’t be doing that.
Prompt |
Book and author |
Cover |
Book with a silhouette on the cover | Tilly and the Book Wanderers by Anna James | ![]() |
Book with strong family elements | The Thornthwaite Inheritance by Gareth P. Jones | ![]() |
Book featuring travel or adventure | The World Between Blinks by Amie Kaufman and Ryan Graudin | ![]() |
Fairytale retelling or has fairytale elements | The Girl Who Speaks Bear by Sophie Anderson | ![]() |
Book published in the decade you were born | Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones | ![]() |
The beauty with most of these prompts (except the last one) is that they are so broad I could almost substitute anything below in for them if I need to.
I know I have it listed above, but The World Between Blinks is an ARC that I received and I really just need to tick it off (it’s good, but I’ve been distracted by shiny things, like A Court of Silver Flames).
I also have a couple of other middle grade books to review which are:
- Alex and the Alpacas Save the World by Kathryn Lefroy
- The Time-Travelling Caveman by Terry Pratchett
- A Tale of Witchcraft by Chris Colfer
And finally, I have a new (and shiny) ARC that, while it isn’t middle grade, I do want to read during March. Yes, Bloomsbury sent me an early finished copy of Phoenix Flame by Sara Holland, which is the sequel to Havenfall.
Aside from the above, there are some other middle grade books I want to get to:
- Such Big Teeth by Gabby Hutchinson Crouch
- Starfell: Willow Moss and the Lost Days by Dominique Valente
- A Tale of Magic by Chris Colfer
- The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani
- Ice Wolves by Amie Kaufman
- The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
And, finally, I am adding in some non-middle grade books to give my TBR some spice. I am making these “new and shiny” books. It’s to try and curb my enthusiasm from deviating off the above very extensive list… Pray for me!!
- Beach Read by Emily Henry
- Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas
- Fat Chance, Charlie Vega by Crystal Maldonado
- Covet by Tracy Wolff
Now, I doubt very much that I will get through ALL of these. But, hopefully this list is extensive enough that I can try and find something to read from it!!
What are you planning to read in March?
