March 2021 book haul
Hello bookworms!! Welcome to the March 2021 book haul!! A monthly post where I shame myself for never achieving my goal of buying less than I read… This month in particular is going to be… BIG!!
Admittedly, March 2020 was far worse than March 2021… Yes, this time last year I was struggling to fit 29 books in my wrap post. At least this year we’re far less with 18. Only 18!! Look at that improvement!! ?

I subscribe to three monthly boxes: OwlCrate (which I sometimes skip and sometimes swap to OwlCrate Jr), FairyLoot and the book-only subscription for Illumicrate. I also subscribe to the quarterly book-only option for LitJoy.
So, here is where I’m up to as at the end of February:
- ? = arrived in a previous month
- ✅ = arrived this month
- ? = in transit
- ➡️ = skipped
- ?️ = parked (not out yet)
- ❌ = confirmed that it was lost to the mail gremlins (but thankfully refunded)

OK, so technically, my Illumicrate February book arrived. But it was so damaged that they are sending me a new copy. (YAY!! ?) You’ll also notice that there isn’t a row for March – that’s because I’ve skipped every subscription for the month.
- February’s Illumicrate had A Dark and Hollow Star by Ashley Shuttleworth
- FairyLoot’s special edition of A Vow So Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer
- And FairyLoot’s special edition of Bone Crier’s Dawn by Kathryn Purdie
- FairyLoot’s special edition set of An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
I don’t know what it is about March, but every year I seem to have this massive book buying splurge and I really need it to slow down!! Maybe it’s because it’s that 3 month marker right between Christmas and my birthday? Does that make me impatient? It shouldn’t because I never get books for my birthday anyway… although I do buy them for myself as birthday presents!! The below are the TEN books that I bought in March… please keep your fingers crossed that I don’t buy so many next year!!

Some of these were pre-orders, such as Namesake, Eve Brown and Covet. But I had my curiosity spiked by everyone screaming about From Blood and Ash recently as well. But, I’ve started buying ebooks instead of physical copies of things because my shelves are full again!! ?
I didn’t get ANY review copies in March!! Which is actually kind of exciting!! Mostly because I am so far behind on review books that it’s mildly terrifying. Also, the ones that I have read, I’m behind on writing reviews for. Because I haven’t been blogging much this month.
However, I was gifted an ARC copy of Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend. If you’re a frequent flyer here, then you may know that I have several copies of books in this series, as it’s one of my favourites. So this was a pretty awesome gift!! ?
What was in your March 2021 book haul??
