Liebster Award #4

Good morning bookworms!
The lovely Sarah Ames-Foley tagged me in the Liebster Award in April (and I am so sorry I haven’t done this until now, Sarah!) If you haven’t been to Sarah’s blog, please go now, her aesthetic of calm greens and succulents make me so happy! Also, she has amazing content and reviews and it’s really just a beautiful blog ok? ? (Look, I just finished The Bride Test so I’m having feelings, ok?)

  2. Answer the 11 questions the person has asked you

Sarah’s Questions
If you could control the weather, how would the seasons change for you?

Uhh, well we’re in the middle of winter here in Australia… but it’s actually been a pretty mild winter, which I am still surprised about. Having just moved back to Canberra I thought the weather would be much colder but I’ve barely needed a coat (and trust me, in Canberra that’s just insanity – 5 years ago I was wearing coat, gloves, fleecy tights, boots, scarf and either ear muffs or a beanie, and that was before I left the house). However, I’d change it by bringing a nice, thick layering (say 2 feet) of snow from our visit to the Alps in Switzerland and Austria, and just blanket this city in real snow.

What are you reading right now?

I literally just finished The Bride Test by Helen Hoang, and TBH, I want to go back and lower my rating for The Kiss Quotient so that I can give The Bride Test more stars because OMIGOSH I haven’t cried like this in… what, two weeks? (Look, I’m a bit emotional, ok?)

If you could magically acquire a new talent, what would you choose?

Fluency in all languages.

How would you describe your “aesthetic?”

*moderately confused because I don’t think I have an aesthetic?!*
If I do have an aesthetic, it’s lots of books on a wooden table top. It seems to work for my Instagram as well as blog headers… (Look, I don’t know what I’m doing 98% of the time, ok? I’m just happy that I’ve been posting semi-regularly!)

What is something you’re hoping to accomplish in the next year?

Lowering my Backlist of books to under 100 (which won’t happen if I keep acquiring ARCs or buying more backlist books… Why am I making this so hard on myself?!)

What is your most used emoji?
??????????
What’s the best Halloween costume you’ve ever had?

I’m Australian… so, I’ve never had a Halloween costume. Although, the kids these days have started to trick or treat, but now that I’m in an apartment complex I doubt I’ll see them again for a while…

If you didn’t have to work for money, what would you do with your time?

I would learn coding and self-host my own blog and read all the books that I haven’t gotten to, and also maybe dabble more in writing, and spend more time with my Sims and my Stardew Valley farm (they are both sorely neglected at the moment).
I’d also probably volunteer or work part-time anyway.

What’s the last text you sent?

To a colleague/friend who I convinced to read Nevernight by Jay Kristoff (you’re welcome, Harry), as he is now addicted and has started to sculpt Mia from the US cover of Darkdawn and IT LOOKS AMAZING. ?

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A lawyer

What’s your phone background?

A cropped section of the art from our Save the Date card (which my profile is also cropped from). I currently have much longer, and much bluer hair!
