Jaffa cheesecake
So, as I mentioned in my recipe for White chocolate cheesecake, I use this as my base cheesecake recipe for heaps of different variations. This variation is for all the orange-chocolate lovers out there!
There are two steps you need to add to the base recipe to transform it into choc-orange deliciousness.
Steps for choc orange cheesecake goodness:
- At step 6, add 1.5 tsp of orange essence to the cream cheese mixture.
- Between steps 7 and 8, add 1 cup of crushed Jaffas to the cheesecake mixture.
- Continue on your merry cheesecake way…
There is also an alternate you can do for the base, but it will depend on whether you can find these biscuits anymore, or a suitable alternative…
About a year ago Arnott’s released a chocolate orange version of the Delta Cream biscuit in Australia. If by some miracle your local supermarket still stocks these, you can exchange the base for a 250g packet of these, crushed into fine crumbs and mixed with 80g of melted butter.
NOTE: Some people (like my fiancé do not enjoy ‘bits’ in their cheesecake, so I add an additional 1/2 tsp (total of 2 tsp) of the orange essence to the mixture and then leave out the crushed Jaffas (as seen in the above photo).
