End of the Year book tag 2019
Good morning bookworms!
Well, it’s New Years Eve in Australia, so it’s time to do an end of year thing. I’m not *quite* ready to do all my wrap-up posts because I plan on finishing at least one more book today (maybe even two!!), so instead I am pinching this tag from the lovely Destiny @ Howling Libraries!
Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
Yes, definitely! Ones I started this year (and got more than 10% through) include:
- Siege and Storm – Leigh Bardugo
- DEV1AT3 – Jay Kristoff
- StepSister – Jennifer Donnelly
- Red Glove – Holly Black
Do you have any autumnal books to transition into the end of the year?
No… I would say I’m not really a seasonal reader, but I’m not sure that’s true any more. I did finish A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer last night, and that had some late summer, early autumn vibes happening.
Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?
Today? No. I don’t know of any books coming out today!! There’s still some books that came out this year that I want to buy, but… isn’t that just the life of a book reader?!
What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
Today I’d like to finish Red Glove for sure. Depending on how many hours I have after that I want to finish either Siege and Storm or read Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell.
Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?
I don’t think so. A Heart So Fierce and Broken may have smashed that one out of the park last night!!
Have you already started making reading plans for 2020?
YES! I actually have a plan to tackle my TBR this year, including a pick from you guys each month. Yup, on my Twitter each month I’m asking you guys to pick a book from my Backlist and if I get more than 1 request we’ll do a poll. January’s pick is A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab, thank you Ally @ Ally Writes Things!
I’m also committing to a higher number of backlist books to be read (75 in 2020!) and I will be limiting the number of books I am buying to five per month. (Books sent by publishers won’t count as I can’t always control this. Pre-orders purchased this year will count.) You’ll be seeing a lot less subscription boxes for me next year too.
I’ve also got a list of ARCs to get through, including The Night Country by Melissa Albert and Havenfall by Sara Holland, and I’ve already been approved for some big books next year that I’m looking forward to sharing with you!!
Tagging
I’m actually not going to tag anyone this time (because it’s New Years Eve), but if you haven’t done this one, then please feel free!!

I am also not a huge seasonal reader, I just read something when I feel like it. I am currently in the middle of a book, but there is no way I am going too finish it before midnight, but I might get close.

“There’s still some books that came out this year that I want to buy, but… isn’t that just the life of a book reader?!” I would sure say so! if I was immortal I don’t think I’d ever manage to collect (let alone read) all the books I wanted to!
I wish you all the best reads in 2020! ?
