August 2024 TBR
Hello friends!! Welcome to the August 2024 TBR. A post where I will attempt to take my best guess at what I will feel like reading for the month of August.
I am pretty sure that I failed miserably from my July 2024 TBR post. I finished ONE book, and started ONE other. Of which I’m currently about a quarter into. So, 1.25 books out of 12. That’s only JUST 10%.
I am absolutely killing my Goodreads goal though. Yes, despite only vaguely attempting my TBR in July, I did read nine books, which puts me at 76 books read for 2024, and I should hit 100 books around September, maybe October. Which is what I predicted earlier after getting off to a cracking start. I just wish the rest of my challenges were that far ahead.
So, I’m actually going to take it easy on myself this month, and only put books that I am absolutely certain that I will read. And on that note, let’s go see my TBR for August 2024. That I hope to stick to.
August 2024 TBR
Ok, so as mentioned above, I am only going to put books on here that I think I might genuinely read. Which means we’re going back to absolute basics. And by that I mean, like SIX books. We’re no longer playing in the 20’s lists of “maybe I’ll read half of this”. I need to hit a percentage that I will be proud of in September.
My plan for September is to start really hitting some backlist books and challenges.
So, how I’ve split the books that I will attempt to read in August are as follows:
1 book club picks (I’m tapping out of this month’s Romance Revelry Society’s pick as I have a bee in my bonnet with Olivia Dade)
1 buddy read (which we are doing through the Romance Revelry Society so I still have a book with that group this month
1 book that is coming out in August that I plan to devour IMMEDIATELY (and is on my anticipated reads for 2024 AND my 24 in 24 challenge)
2 book box books that I’ve recently purchased that look so good (and also look like a package deal, even though they aren’t)
1 ebook that I have recently purchased

Good Luck with your August TBR. Six books sounds sensible to me although Priory of the Orange Tree should probably count as two. It is a great read though so I hope that you enjoy it.

Although eh.. have you seen how HUGE priory is?? 😭😭 instant nope for me.

Hahaha, yes, I’m keeping my own fingers crossed!! And I put Priory off for so long because of the size, but honestly, I’ve read bigger books and I need to not be scared of it!!
