August '19 book haul
Good morning bookworms!
Book haul categories are as follows:
- book boxes
- book purchases (book mail, instore and digital)
- review copies (book mail and digital), and
- bookish items (book related, but not actual books).
I subscribe to three monthly boxes: OwlCrate, FairyLoot and the book-only subscription for LitJoy. Here is what arrived in August:
- FairyLoot’s August box theme was Things are not what they seem, and the book was The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen
- OwlCrate’s August theme was Storms and Seas, and the book was House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig
- LitJoy’s August theme was as Dressed for Deception, and the book was A Dress For the Wicked by Autumn Krause
My July FairyLoot still had not arrived by 31 August… It went to the US, then to my old address, and now it’s on its way here!
NOT crazy over the top this month, which is kind of nice!! (But also not … great!!)

Ahhhh, look at all those anticipated reads FINALLY coming in!! ? ALSO, the copy of Frogkisser was a gift from the amazing Roz. AND it’s a signed copy, which makes me SO HAPPY because Nix is one of my fave authors and I’ve never had a signed book from him before, despite growing up a couple of hours from him.
This is MUCH BETTER!!

Ahhhh… I really need to take better note of what comes in for this!! I’m *pretty sure* that my Cara Kozik Harry Potter mug came this month (this is separate from the OwlCrate mugs by her, but all within the same series)… or maybe it came in July?! I have been using it!!
OH!! I got gifted some beautiful Captive Prince bookmarks from Roz as well, AND because C. S. Pacat was at the Darkdawn book launch, I got her to sign them!! ? (I do need to take photos of them though…)

Oh girl I got Heartstopper vol 2 in July, and read it as soon as my sister picked it up for me. It’s so much better than the first (equally 5 stars, but just soooo much cuter!)
I got the Fairyloot’s August box too (best boyfriend ever in paying for my subscription each month lol) so I guess I’ll be reading the book next week for their read-a-long thing that they’re hosting.
I kept forgetting to post my hauls, so I still have my May, June & July haul to do which is very… long.. think i have like 40+ books, mostly anticipated pre-orders and birthday gifts. Will post my august one up soon, don’t think I did too bad for August, I hope!
