August ’18 book haul

As usual, we are splitting this into three sections: book boxes, online purchases (book mail), and in-store (book purchases).

August book boxes

So, I actually think all the book boxes are back on track, which is a really nice surprise after last month’s mess!!

  • LitJoy’s August theme was Catwoman, and the book was Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J Maas (and it was SIGNED! My first signed Maas book!) Reminder that I only order the ‘book only’ version from LitJoy (and I love it!)
  • FairyLoot’s August theme was Mutinous Pirates, and the book contained was These Rebel Waves by Sarah Raasch
  • OwlCrate’s August theme was Ruthless Royals, and the book inside was Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart
  • The YA Chronicles’ August theme was Pirates and Magic, and also contained These Rebel Waves by Sarah Raasch

At the time of publishing, I am still waiting for nothing! All my August boxes arrived during August, and I had no carry over from July. This is so exciting!

August book mail

This month I bought some books, but not a huge amount (surprising, I know!), and I expect the others I bought will turn up in September.

  • Fence issue #9 by C. S. Pacat (subscription)
  • The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw
  • Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff
  • Furyborn by Claire Legrand (I won this from Inge from Of Wonderland‘s giveaway)

I also received a copy of We See Everything by William Sutcliffe from Bloomsbury Publishers. (Which was a total surprise because I can’t remember giving them my postal address, let alone asking for this book!)

Now, I actually feel the need to explain something. You see, I already own Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff. In fact, I already owned FOUR copies of this book, making this my fifth copy. However, I FINALLY found a copy of the Waterstones blue-sprayed edge edition, and I just couldn’t resist. Now I just need to find a red-sprayed edge copy of Nevernight, and I’ll probably be the happiest person on the face of the earth. They are so rare though, so I’m not holding my breath!

August book purchases (in person)

None, again… I definitely must be sick.

What a quiet month!! I’ve also read some of these already, with book reviews to come (eventually)!! Happy reading! ☺️?
