ABC Book Challenge: Q
Good morning bookworms!
During 2019 I am participating in the ABC Book Challenge! Previous letters:
A | B | C | D | E | F | G | H | I | J | K | L | M
N | O | P
Please keep in mind that books that literally start with ‘A’, ‘An’ or ‘The’ will be posted in the group of the second word, as per the A-Z Reading Challenge, and my entire movie collection.
Without any further ado, let’s continue with the letter Q. (Which of course is for Queen, hence the crown.)
Books that I enjoyed that start with the letter Q
Queen of Babble series by Meg Cabot – This series was probably one of the first MG/YA series I ever read. I never read The Princess Diaries by Cabot, but I saw a really sweet review for these and got them a long time ago. (Seriously, I read them a LOOOONG time ago, I have no idea how well they’ve aged.) But Lizzie, the MC, was quirky and fun, and she never learns how to keep all her secrets inside and that fascinated me because I’m an introvert who, when in uncomfortable situations, just blurts out everything… so I relate!
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas – this is, of course, book 4 in the Throne of Glass series. I enjoyed it a lot, but I still think Empire of Storms is my fave in this series (although, let’s be honest, any book that has Rowan in it, is ok by me).
Queen of Sorcery by David Eddings – this is the second book in The Belgariad. Confession time: It’s been like, a really long time since I read these books. They were some of the very first fantasy series that I ever read (I think I was like 13/14), and I remember being blown away by how detailed and amazing the world was, but without being bored by the descriptiveness. I don’t know how well they would fare these days, but I have such lovely memories of them.
Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde – I feel like I’ve been screaming about this one a fair bit lately, but also because I just got Going Off Script by Jen Wilde, so that’s probably why. I really love Jen Wilde’s characters, the diversity that she writes in her books, and the escapades they go on (and the trouble they get in). It’s just a cool story.
Books on my TBR that start with the letter Q
- Queen of Air and Darkness – Cassandra Clare
- The Queen of Nothing – Holly Black *
- Quintana of Charyn – Melina Marchetta
Books marked with an * are also on my TBB (to be bought) list!
Are any of these on your lists, or do you have any recommendations for me?
