September 2024 TBR

Hello friends!! Welcome to the September 2024 TBR. A post where I will attempt to take my best guess at what I will feel like reading for the month of September.

Ok, so for my August 2o24 TBR I decided to go easy on myself. Mainly because there’s been a bunch of books that I have started this year that I’m just not making a lot of headway on. And it’s not that I’m not enjoying them. I just keep getting distracted by shiny new things.

Speaking of, my shiny new thing of having whooping cough and influenza A at the same time is absolutely killing my concentration at the moment. So, once again, I’ll be taking it pretty easy on myself right now. (However, I might up the number of books read since I am at home doing a whole lot of nothing else right now.)

Now, in August, I did actually make SOME headway on my TBR. Out of the six books on my TBR I read 3.25 of them. (The extra 25% belongs to Priory, which, while taking me some time to read is getting a little bit more done each month.) But that means I was over 50% on my TBR in total! Which is actually a win! I accomplished what I set out to do (in a way).

That’s not to say I only finished 3 books during August β€” because I read way more than that. They just weren’t on my TBR (as per usual). I finished 9 books during the month, one was a buddy read, one was a highly anticipated read for 2024, but the rest were all ebook romances.

So, let’s go see my TBR for September 2024. That I hope to stick to.

September 2024 TBR

Ok, so because I’m still sick, I am only going to put books on here that I think I might genuinely read. There’s not going to be much fantasy β€” be prepared for a lot of Kindle romances. My plan for September was to start really hitting some backlist books and challenges, so I’m digging out everything that isn’t fantasy (or is at least light-fantasy) and putting it here. Maybe we can hit proper fantasy in October for Halloween.

So, how I’ve split the books that I will attempt to read in September are as follows (and in picture order):

  • 2 book club picks (Bookish Chaos, and the Romance Revelry Society)

  • 1 buddy read (which we are doing through the Romance Revelry Society)

  • 5 challenge books: 1 from my 12 in 12, 3 from my 24 in 24, and 1 for a Beat the Backlist bingo spot, and

  • a selection of 4 physical and ebooks that I have recently purchased (which are all either the start of a series or the next in a series that I am up to)

This will hopefully also decrease some of my physical TBR as well, because, friends, it is ever increasing.

Covers should be Goodreads links. Hopefully.
