WWW Wednesday – 25 September 2019

Good morning bookworms!

Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday! What is this, you ask? Well, it’s a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. All you have to do is answer the three following questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Also, don’t forget that the Of Wonderland (🎩) theme for September is duologies and trilogies! So, without further ado, let’s get started!

🙈 I have been Sim-ing… However, I have also been reading (kind of) although, nothing on my TBR because WHY WOULD I STICK TO THAT?! (Sorry, I’m not yelling at you… I’m yelling at me.) It’s kind of a theme though. I’ve been reading author’s second books… that aren’t part of a series. But there’s some symmetry in that!! (This is how I justify my life to myself…)

Buddy reads are progressing… *cough* except I lost my copy of Vicious while I was traveling this week, so now I need to buy a new copy… *cough* and I keep reading new books!!

Also, I think I’m going to do a poll on Twitter. Confession: I’m not actually “currently reading” at least SIX of the books below. Should I just DNF (or set aside for “later”) the ones that I haven’t touched for months? Surely you guys don’t want to see weekly lists of the same books with no progress?! And it’s not that I don’t want to finish them… I’m just.. stuck?! Tell me below your thoughts!!

  • Siege and Storm – Leigh Bardugo 📖 🍪 🎩 – 17%

Ooof, how is this month almost over?! The good news is, I can’t play any more Sims until the weekend when I get home. The bad news is I only have one more book with me on this trip so I’ll need to buy another copy of Vicious to finish it!!

  1. I’m a little biased coz I love Schwab, but I’d definitely keep going with Vicious or put it into the ‘later’ pile! I also really enjoyed Ace of Shades and found it a fairly quick read. Hope you manage to plow through a few of these 🙂

  2. This is such a fun post! 😀 Even though I can’t say that I get all of the key. (What the hell does “Of Wonderland” mean? And what is a YARC?) 🙈
Maybe put one of Jay’s books away, so you have something to look forward to. And I’m a master at putting the Grisha-books on hold, even though I like them.
I hope you can finish some of them. They look so great. 🙂

    1. 😂 Let me explain for you!!
Of Wonderland is a book club blog, and they do a theme every month, and this month’s theme is duologies and trilogies.
YARC is Year of the Asian Challenge where we try to read books by and promote authors from Asian backgrounds. It’s run by 4 very amazing and talented bloggers and I signed up to do 10 books this year, but have managed 12 to date. There’s also animal stickers for each level, and it’s one of the (many) challenges I signed up to this year!!
And yes, I think you’re right. I’ve also heard that the ending to DEV1AT3 is a terrible cliffhanger, so I’m definitely leaving it until next May!! 😂

      1. I’m terrible behind with reading this year. I will never finish my Goodreads challenge and my TBR will smother me, I just know it. 😭
I looked up the Of Wonderland bookclub and it sounded so amazing that I joined. Yay. I hope that helps with my inability to finish books. Thanks for introducing me to that. 🙂

  3. Haha, I’d say put the ones that you still want to finish on hold (especially Vicious!!), and the ones that you don’t care about much, away for now. Doesn’t have to be a permanent DNF, but at least you won’t have to worry about reading them right away. I hope you get another copy of Vicious soon and that you like the ending!!

    Happy reading 💖
