The Pancake Book Tag

Good morning bookworms!

The loveliest J R @ Eternity Books tagged me in this tag, and tbh, it’s making me wish I had a better breakfast than just a cup of tea… 😅

The Rules:

  • Link back to the original creator in your post (Becky @ Blogs of a Bookaholic)
  • Feel free to use any of Becky’s wonderful pancake graphics in your post, or create your own! (Thank you Becky, these are so cute!!)
  • Tag 5 other people at the end of your post, and let them know you’ve tagged them.

Look, if I don’t put a Maggie Stiefvater book in this category then I have failed at life, ok? So, I’m going with my all-time favourite, The Scorpio Races.

There are moments that you’ll remember for the rest of your life and there are moments that you think you’ll remember for the rest of your life, and it’s not often they turn out to be the same moment.

Uhhhh, I’m just going to keep answering with Maggie Stiefvater. However, I’m choosing Ronan Lynch from The Raven Boys.

Gansey had once told Adam that he was afraid most people didn’t know how to handle Ronan. What he meant by this was that he was worried that one day someone would fall on Ronan and cut themselves.

Definitely Emergency Contact by Mary H. K. Choi. It was borderline soothing in its complete awkwardness between the two main characters. A cute, non-stressful read!

Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff. I don’t think I finished a book for a month after reading it (it was just a long continuation of picking up, reading a chapter and putting down books for ages)!!

Ooooh… The Hating Game by Sally Thorne made me just want to read it over and over again. I’m pretty sure it’s broken me for all romance novels from now on. Enemies to lovers, slow-burn romance, office-setting. (tick, tick, tick)

*stop putting Maggie books in all your prompts, Meeghan!*

Uhhhh, Hannah Donnelly from Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. I thought she was a bit of a perfect, stuck-up daddy’s girl, but she was actually really sweet!!

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. 100% did not expect that ending (or the one from The Wicked King either…)

This one was hard… There’s so many couples that I don’t buy in books (*cough* Romione *cough*) but none that by the end of the book I end up cheering for… Let’s go with Jesper and Wylan from Leigh Bradugo’s Six of Crows, but only because I thought Wylan deserved better!

The Darkling!!! I just. Don.t. Get. It. (From Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone. No, I haven’t finished Siege and Storm yet…)

Probably going with The Brightsiders by Jen Wilde for this one. There is a whole slew of teens in this one figuring out who they are and how they can be themselves and it’s equally empowering and heartbreaking… (two of the best things ever!)

  1. Oooo yes, I love cute and awkward; it a book about me! I currently have Emergency Contact somewhere (in my room? in a box?) and am excited to see this on the page.

OMG YES. I definitely didn’t expect the ending to The Wicked King UNTIL IT SMACKED ME IN THE FACE. Then everything made sense when I sat down and really thought about it. But still, where is November and where can I get I purchase early access to the month so I can read Queen of Nothing?

    1. All valid questions that I would also like the answer to!!!! 😂😂
Emergency Contact was so good. I felt like I was reading about me on the page (why is my life a mess? Why can’t I talk to people in person? What is this crippling anxiety?)

  2. I loved The Scorpio Races, and should really do a reread one of these days – for The Raven Cycle, as well. I really loved Hannah in Gemina, she was much more complex than I first expected her to be. 1000% agree about the Darkling. Really curious what you’ll think when you finish the series. Great answers! 🙂
