WWW Wednesday – 6 Feb 2019

Good morning bookworms!

Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday! What is this, you ask? Well, it’s a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. All you have to do is answer the three following questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

So, without further ado, let’s get started!

What I recently finished reading…

I DID IT! I finally finished a Discworld novel. Winning! Now I just need to catch up on writing reviews… d’oh!

  • Hunted by Meagan Spooner
  • Wyrd Sisters by Terry Pratchett
  • Rat Queens Vol 1: Sass and Sorcery by Kurtis J Wiebe
  • The House with Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson
What I am currently reading…

I started my buddy read of Wundersmith yesterday, and also !!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!

  • Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend
  • The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic
What I think I’ll read next…

Now that I know I’m not behind on Pratchett anymore, I don’t quite feel as pressured. HOORAY!!

  • The Raven King by Nora Sakavic
  • The King’s Men by Nora Sakavic

Happy reading! 😊📚

  2. I need to read The Foxhole Court because everyone is talking about it and I want to be in on the fun. First, I have to get through City of Bones and Game of Thrones so I can take them back to the library, though.

    1. YES YES YES YES YES!! However, there should be trigger warnings for basically everything – but different to Captive Prince. There’s so much violence, drug and alcohol abuse, death, torture, parental abuse, and one rape scene (it’s like a paragraph and not explicit). But the good far outweighs the bad, so I’m still recommending it. x

      1. Thanks! Carpe Jugulum and Witches Abroad are my favourite witches books, but I don’t think I’ve read all the Tiffany books, so I’m going to try and get to them during this reread. 🙂

    1. Now I’ve finished I can say you should read it, BUT there should be trigger warnings for like, everything. Drugs and alcohol abuse, violence (lots of violence), torture, abusive parents – basically anything you can think of. But it was amazing so I feel like that balances it out.

      1. Brain tumors and sexual assault of children. Actually, I will admit to being in the danger zone when it comes to sexual assault full stop. I still might read it but I’d like to know it was there. Did I hit anything?

      2. There is a mention of sexual assault, but it’s a teeny tiny thing in the scheme of all the other things that are mentioned. The violence is definitely the biggest thing. But I really recommend it if you can! x
